Max You gotta write more man. Find time and write more. Post a good pre game analysis on the Pats game please.
we haven't played a team with a winning record yet so you don't see how we have a plan for the pats? god damn that's some retarded logic. seriously, even for you. the next time you have a similar train of thought step away from the computer and just punch yourself in the face instead.
Don never has a train of thought, he only has an abandoned caboose sitting in the woods on a stretch of track that stopped being used years ago, and it's infested with squirrels and raccoons.
The irony is strong in your saying this forum should essentially be for just discussing the Jets if they are your beloved team... combined with a link on home page to go to patsfan.com to "talk trash". I am not trying to talk trash. I actually think the line at 9 points is incredibly absurd. I would've pegged it at 5.5 or so. I think Pats and Jets end up splitting games this season.
The spread has very little to do with how good they think the teams are. Like almost nothing. The goal in making spreads to is getting betting evenly as possible on either side so the house wins no matter what. So when they set the spread its not about how good/bad they think the teams are but rather how they think the average better perceives the two teams. its why Vegas hires numbers geeks to set these not knowledgable football people. most everyone (the average better) thinks the Patriots are god's greatest football team right now. ESPN's sucking them off daily. Talk of 16-0 and shit. most everyone thinks the Jets are probably shitty like last year. They think the Jets' "hot start" is mostly about the schedule. The 10 point spread just reflects those perceptions. Not what the house actually thinks about the two teams. They see this perception and make the patriots high favorites so people will bet the Jets just as much as they will bet the Patriots.
Just pointing out the ironic "we're so great - the 'Patriot Way'"that year after year is juxtapositioned with the Patriot fans' 'jets suck' obsession regarding our beloved New York Jets. As for this Sunday, the original line was 10 points - obviously to lure some Jet money into the mix. But should Buster Skrine be confirmed as a no-go, things really don't look good for the Jets imo as there will be just "too many holes to plug" in the Patriots offensive arsenal begining with the elusive Dion Lewis and AholeEdelmen in space (and of course Brady). And should Todd Bowles go 'dime' with 6 DBs, then the Patriots counter with a no huddle sequence of LaGarrett Blount. Frankly, I would settle for a split.
How about instead of pointing out the weakness in our schedule we pump the brakes on the Patriots being an unstoppable force? The combined record of our opponents is 12-17, theirs is 13-16. They've played the steelers without Bell and Bryant, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Dallas without Romo and Dez and the same Indy team that we slaughtered. Let's see if those 2007 comparisons are warranted.
That's the one where we ran for 200+, had the ball for 40 mins with zero turnovers and lost right? One of the most pissed off I've ever been after a reg season loss, my Christ was I ever dancing.
Jets are clearly the toughest team NE has faced all year. This will be a good game. I can see Chris Ivory being a HUGE advantage in 1st and 2nd downs, leaving very manageable 3rd and short all game. I can see Bowles employing the same 4-man front as last week to shut down the Pats run game, leaving 6 DBs to shut down Brady's 'weapons'. Almost like Rex's PO win, playing dime the whole game. Skrine, of course, is the wildcard. Although Dex did really good last week as filling in for Buster. Jets 27 NE 25
Isn't it amazing how the media has pumped up the Jets this week? If you read all the stories you'd think this crowd already had their tickets punched for SB50. I'm hoping the team isn't reading this crap.
You mean you don't have yours? Woody put them on sale last week: February 7th 2016 - New York Jets vs Green Bay Packers. You'll need to act quickly. I believe we win 20-13 in the end - it really gets going in the 3rd quarter.
Jets are the 3rd best team(could make a case for 2nd) in the AFC. I am surprised at what Fitzpatrick has done to this point given he has no TE. Brandon Marshall and him have good chemistry too. Defensively, the front 4 is the best in the NFL and that will be a problem for the Pats banged up OL. This will be a closer game than many "experts" think IMO. Belichick will take away Brandon Marshall. That is what he does to every team's best offensive weapon. If the running game can get established from Ivory and Decker is able to expose Logan Ryan or whoever they put on him, then the Jets can win this game. Todd Bowles is an awesome coach and has instilled the professionalism and discipline that Rex didn't. I'm looking forward to this game.
