had we had a WR go for 100 yds 4 games in a row until today. Citation: http://espn.go.com/blog/newyork-jet...ivory-up-eric-decker-down-in-newyork-jets-win Pretty sad.
Let this sink in........ We may have 2 receivers with over 1,000 yards....... My how far we have come.......
it's really clear what's plagued this franchise: Lack of a franchise QB. Not since Namath. Just fucking terrible. 40 years of not having a franchise QB
To put this in perspective, because it's a statistic that will get blown out of proportion if we don't: Calvin Johnson had an 8 game streak with 100+ yards in 2012. He had a 4 game streak in 2011. That's it. 4 games with 100+ yards doesn't happen very often. So the fact that Marshall has done it for us this year is very cool but the fact that nobody has done it for us since Maynard in 1968 doesn't really tell us much. Jerry Rice played for 19 years and had only a single 4 game streak of 100 yards games in 1995. He caught 1,549 passes for 22,895 yards in his career and only once did he have 4 games in a row with 100+ yards.
You know what I find amazing. In todays NFL and pass happy league where you can barely touch a receiver in their routes that the only players with 2 or more 200 yard games in a single season were all played before 1970...and yes Maynard is on that list with 2 200 yard games in 1968.
WR is one era where this team has been blessed over the years. With that being said I am really happy with Brandon Marshall (just no more laterals).
