Didn't the Jets draft this jobber? I was watching the 1998 Rose Bowl (Wash St. v MicH) and this guy was playing for WSU. I think the Jets drafted him in the second round or something. Wasn't he a major bust?

    Yep.

I think he was Parcells first draft pick.

(We didn't have a first rounder for two years...one for Martin, one for Parcells, although I don't remember which pick was from which year)

He has been training camp fodder for the Redskins and Texans since the Jets cut him and even did a stint in the CFL with Edmonton.

    Redskins sign Boose

The Redskins signed DL Dorian Boose, who spent the last three years with the New York Jets, on Monday. A situational player with the Jets, Boose made only 15 tackles in his three seasons in New York.

Buchsbaum: Boose is a former Jets’ second-round pick who they kept giving chances to. He’s a guy who has great workout numbers, tremendous speed and athletic ability for a big man, but he talks a good game and doesn’t have a good game. He just doesn’t have that tenacity you need to play effectively on the defensive line. Maybe getting cut will finally wake him up to that fact because he does have the ability to play in the league. The problem is, he never showed great football instincts on the field.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. Yea, he vanished to some far off land with Alex Van Dyke and Eric Ogbogu...and don't forget Alan Allen(yes that was his name....no relation to me of course)

Alex Van Dyke dropped a big pass in a big game for us. Was it the AFC Championship in 98?

Boose came up here and played for the Eskimos as a DT. He was definitly a bust for the Jets.

Ogbogu atleast made some NFL teams, I think he still plays for the Cowboys.

The super star of sacks in the pre season & then zero in the regular season. Another dreadful draft choice who went nowhere

When you can't make it as an NFL player, at least you can "play" one in commercials!
