The AFC South and NFC East are pretty easily the two worst divisions in the league. Great year to be playing them.

There is no "easy" game on the schedule ...not when your QB is playing mediocre ...Redskins just beat a team we lost to....The Raiders aren't pushovers anymore....the point is we aren't good enough ,despite the record, to start chalking up W's looking ahead....we need better play at QB...I hope I'm wrong ..but I see this becoming a real issue at some point

You all do know that a win over a terrible Dolphins team counts as much as a win over a great Pats team? It counts as 1 win. Are the Jets Superbowl bound? No. Are they better than expected? I think so. Yes they have flaws, but they are also 3-1. Ill take that every 4 games for a 12-4 record. There are much more bad (and terrible) teams in the NFL this year than good ones, so if we can beat all of the terrible teams, the Jets will be pretty good... Stop bitching about every little thing and enjoy the win... Fitzpatrick is not Peyton Manning, but he is so far getting the job done. 3-1! Go Jets!!

    TRUTH:

I think the key is the last four games of the season...not the first four.

If we're healthy and playing well, I believe we'll be in position to do well in the post-season.

better then Geno who would be like 3 TDs 10 ints and we would be 1-3 isntead of 3-1.

we dont have a high ceiling with fitz, but we can certainly win the 9-10 games to make the playoffs. fitz is below average, but look at the AFC. there are like 2 good teams in the entire conference and we have a nice head start at 3-1 so far.

we are good enough on defense and on the ground to beat any team with a bad QB. it is unlikely we will lose to teams with QBs like brandon weeden, Blake Bortles, Kirk Cousins, or Ryan Mallet. if a team has a decent qb then we can certainly be beat, but this team is goign to eat terrible QBS alive.

we need better qb play to beat the pats and packers of the world. not the jags or texans of the world.

fitzpatrick is fine as long as he doesnt have to come from down 10-14 points or win a shootout. we wont be down big or in shootouts vs guys like kirk cousins

Romo and Dez are both expected back weeks before they play the Jets.

I'm just going to simplify it..

We are a middle of the pack type offense in this league.

We are probably the best defense in the league after 4 games of play.

If we can maintain that production we can be a playoff team that could surprise.

However, it is a long season, injuries can easily put us behind the eight ball and out of reach of that playoff goal.

We still need work from a talent perspective on offense, and some upgrades are still needed on defense, but we are very close to putting together a team that can be contenders for years to come.

This upcoming off season and draft are crucial for our future. It's just as crucial ad this past off season.

Luckily, so far, it looks like Mac has done a very sound job with what he was given, which was a lot.

...and I know when you have that much money, it seems like it would be an easy task to get it right for almost anyone but I don't agree with that.

I believe if we had the wrong person in that seat, it would've been just as easy to derail this team even further with bad contracts, bad player fits, bad scouting and drafting.

    So far, so good.

Funny how you bring those rushing numbers up when the plays that hurt them in the rushing game, especially in the first 2 games, have been QBs scrambling away from pressure

They held the Browns RBs to 46 yards and the Colts RB to 67 yards. They did allow the eagles to run 125 yards, but on 36 carries. Not exactly getting gashed

Overall is Fitz a good QB? How do you rate him overall? If we had an average quaterback, I say the Jets make the playoffs. But since I believe Fitz is below average, I believe Jets will miss the playoffs. Fitz is definitely in the bottom half of QB's.

Yeah but that's all we have.

An average QB or, in your mind, a below average QB.

We're not trading mid season for an above average QB so we have to hope the running game continues to excel and that Fitz limits his mistakes.

Enjoy the ride, we were never competing for a SB.

It's very early, but one statistical indicator that is very positive for us: Our point differential. We are +40. Good teams always clean up in point differential.

It is of no consequence. Fitz is better than what we have to replace him. Until he proves otherwise.

AFC South yes, NFC East is a different story. Aside from already having lost (and at home) to Philly and even assuming they beat the Redskins, they have Dallas in Dallas with Romo and Dez back as well as a Giants team that easily could be 3-1 after blowing a win against 4-0 Atlanta not to mention going up to Buffalo and beating the Bills convincingly. I'd never underestimate a Tom Coughlin-coached team (who'll be the home team).
