I agree. There seemed to be a lot of phim jerseys in the area too. They were trying to keep it competitive. The refs fucked us, no question. A complaint should be filed

they did not dare call interference on Revis when they got their legs tangled up and he got an interception. Up to that point Miami had gotten every penalty they needed to boost their pathetic offense. But Revis has cred. These refs are hypocrites. Sometimes i believe the NFL is more show than sport. And these guys wanted to keep the English blokes interested. Pathetic. An entire drive of pass interferences. AT least one of the balls was uncatchable. The INT on Fitz where the DB flattened Smith in the open field? Give me a break. I generally do not like to rag refs, but these guys deserve whatever they get----if they get anything
The Jets I believe have covered the spread in like 3 outa 4 weeks ? At this rate we will be the favorite in the Pats game lol
I thought both pass interference penalties called back to back were ticky tack contact--in addition I did not think either ball was catchable. AT MOST they should have been illegal contact if anything.
Sadly during the 'big bang' of NFL into the UK consciousness we had Ken O'Brien not Marino, Montana, Emmet Smith, William Perry or the like. Those teams are the big teams in the UK and a probable factor the NFL will have to consider and plan for (divisional realignments etc..) if/when they plan to plant a franchise in Blighty.
That crowd had no clue. There were hundreds of jerseys and hats for every nfl team in that stadium. Like they thought wearing a falcons hat from last years game would make them look nfl savvy, while in reality they look like assholes
How bout the Testaverde QB sneak TD... you know:... the play that caused instant replay to be implemented...
I'm convinced it was to keep the Fins in the game to make it more interesting for the fans in London. The NFL is a business, and the league wants to expand the business into London to get more fans and make more money. If the hyped up games that are played in London are blowouts, fans who don't fully understand the game yet will lose interest, causing the market for American Football there to die.
Fans with little knowledge of American Football and watching a game for the fist time HAVE to be put off with the non-stop 'penalties' and game stoppage. If you were there trying to explain offense/defense etc you'd spend 90% of your time explaining penalties; off sides, false starts, holding, pass interference, time outs, delay of game, personal fouls, on and on.
The refs were definitely trying to keep the game close. No doubt. That first PI was a joke, and the late one in the end zone was so ridiculous they gave us a makeup call to ensure the fish got pushed back. I was at the game, and the Brits all around me were pretty knowledgeable fans. I could not believe the number of them who were rooting for the Dolphins. We were definitely outnumbered. My British bud said that over the last 30 years....families traveled to Florida for vacations 1000x more than NY. Hence the love of Miami. Who knows..
