Yes, we lost. And we're going to lose 5 more games before the season ends (give or take 1 either way).

Our defense is still very good.
We lost this game because Sproles had a great, game changing punt return (it was just a great play by a great player) and we turned the ball over. The worst part about the turnovers is we were in scoring position on two interceptions, which could have completely shifted the momentum.

But the sky isn't falling with our offense - it's just that they're average. Byron Maxwell has stood out on the Eagles the first 2 weeks for all the wrong reasons, but outside of his play they have played good, solid defense. We couldn't run the ball for anything today and we were still in this game to the very end.

We're most likely going to be a wild card contender this year, so everyone just relax.

I can definitely see a wild card spot. Winning this game would've helped though.

I still think we're a year away from the playoffs. I think and still think we're an 8-8 team and I think we'll take 3rd or tie for 2nd in the division. Miami blows and I think they're looking at 6-10.

Not surprised at all about today's outcome. Philly was a desperate team and they played like it. If anything, it's a wake up call that nothing is going to be a easy week to week. It also wasn't a division loss, so move on and regroup.

    On to London...

I think a wild card this year is a pipe dream.
This team is still a QB, TE and an O line ugrade away -- maybe next year.
We will have most likely at least 4 probably 5 losses just to our division opponents with today's loss that is just not going to cut it.

No, we lost this game because Ivory was out and the Jets couldn't run the ball in his absence and Decker was out and Kerley is not a game-breaker the other team has to worry about he's just another guy they need to put a man on and Owusu was out alongside Decker so the 3 receiver spread, which is the Jets normal formation wasn't working today and Sproles burned the Jets for a long punt return TD and Brandon Marshall, who is a great player, made one of the worst calls I have ever seen a great player make when he handed the Eagles another TD just before halftime for a 24-7 lead.

Fitzpatrick is never going to be a guy who brings the Jets back from a huge deficit. When the other team knows he has to throw they can just sit back in a zone and wait for one of his throws to go bad. If he makes enough of them a few are going to be bad and they're going to be pickably bad because his arm isn't great.

Geno would have done no better today. We've seen him when he had to throw to Kerley because everybody else was covered and we know how that works out. We've seen it.

It isn't the end of the season, but to come out at home against an 0-2 team an get blown off the ball to be down 24-0, that's a bad bad sign.

And after battling back kind of we still managed to fuck it up in scoring position, twice. Bad game, let's bury this film and move on but definite questions going forward.

Fitz missed alot of open receivers today and could of made better passes on deep balls to Devin that could of made a difference. Fitz isnt the sole reason they lost but is definitely one of the reasons they lost. This team had plenty of chances to come back from a big deficit but just kept shooting themselves in the foot time and time again (Marshall and Fitz). The defense played well for the most part today. Its just ridiculous that once again, the offense can never pick up the slack....

I respect your opinion. But I think you're wrong.

Eagles sent 4 and covered all short routes/stacked the box. What we needed was Devon Smith to take the top off. You know what we had? Ryan Fitzpatrick underthrowing him multiple times and Smith having to adjust his route. If Smith was able to score a few touchdowns on some of those passes we would have been able to open up the run game/Eagles D would have backed off considerably.

Fitz also cannot read defenses and he threw to guys that were in double and triple coverage. He's good at throwing to the middle -- absolutely horrible at throwing outside or hitting guys in stride.

Geno would have the effect of the defense having to respect his arm. Also I doubt Geno throws 3+ interceptions during this game.

Honestly what we all collectively seem to forget was that Geno was SMOKING Fitz at training camp. The same problems now for Fitz were the exact same problems Fitz had during camp: unable to throw the deep ball, locking into receivers.

Give Geno a fucking chance. I remember Eli Manning being absolutely horrible his first 3 years. Why does Geno only get 2? He was showing promise at the end of the season last year. Granted I don't think he'll ever be a good QB, he still will probably be better than fucking Fitzpatrick.

What would Ivory have done that Powell couldn't do today? Adrian Peterson would have had a shitty day running behind our o-line.

The difference between Eli bad and Geno bad is that the Eli bad era was an era in which the Giants were scoring points on offense and Eli was giving some back with the bad picks. The Geno era has been a dead ball era for the Jets. They just haven't been able to score points at all with Geno behind center and there's no reason to believe that's going to change this year.

Do you really think Geno would have done any better with Ivory and Decker and Owusu out? Do you really think he'd have been able to do anything different to change the momentum after the punt return TD? The Marshall "fumble" would have been even worse with Geno behind center because Geno is so mistake prone that when somebody else makes an unforced error it is generally a killer.

I'd like to think that Geno has become a better QB over the last off-season and there will be progression in his game but I don't have any evidence based on the past two seasons to think that's going to be the case. He cut down on his errors last year by being much more conservative with the football but the Jets overall performance on offense was no better because there are many ways to lose a game aside from just turning the ball over.

Today was a total debacle but it was the debacle we all expected to happen if the Jets couldn't run the ball and had injuries in the receiving corps. Having Geno in there wouldn't have changed anything. He'd still have been taking what the defense gave him (Kerley short) or forcing the ball to Marshall. He'd still have been blindsided by the unforced errors. He'd still have been throwing into the same defense that stymied Fitzpatrick all game.
