When is the last time the Jets were in a game that they were winning and they had the win secured before the beginning of the 4th quarter? It seems like it has been years since they have blown anyone out. The only times they have been in games where the outcome was pretty much known before the beginning of the 4th quarter is when they are getting blown out. Every one of their wins in recent memory has been nervewrecking, and the outcome was still up in the air at some point during the 4th quarter. Let me know if you guys feel the same way.
On sunday i never felt like the game was in doubt unlike our previous 3 wins this year. Our last blowouts came 2 years ago, we blew out Sea, Hou, Miami and the SD reg season game score was misleading as we were up 27-7 and never really in doubt of losing that game.
For the Lions game I felt that the game was defenitely in doubt, especially when they made the score 24-17. If the Jets don't convert on the first 3rd down of their next series, the outcome could have easily changed. Therefore, the last game I feel they blew someone out was more than 2 seasons ago.
Had it not been for the Miami game last week, I'd have been a bit more comfortable during the Detroit game. Play with fire long enough and you get burned, I like to have more than a one score lead.
remeber when we faced the rexans the year John Abe went out, with a groin injury i think 04 but we raped them with no grease i remember leaving around the 3rd quarter of the game.
The last true blowout I can remember is against the Seahawks in december of '04. I think the final score was 35-14 or something like that.
Yea, then we'd lose the divisional playoff at home against the Chiefs on a muffed punt in overtime or something.
