Bowles, literally called out Cro, telling him the route he was about to get burned on lol

3rd and 19 and Cro is looking in the backfield. You have one assignment...don't let anyone get behind you, keep the play in front. Terrible on Cro

    Bowles "aight, let's reload."

I like him so far. Maybe I'm just used to Rex being more vocal and outspoken, but it worries me that every bad play, like Cro giving up the TD or the Browns one handed catch for a first on third and long or Fitz interception before Marshall took it back, Bowles kind of laughed them all off. I mean I guess it's his first game and he was just taking it all in and letting the game play out, but I kind of expect a little more fire or anger and holding people accountable when bad plays like that happen. Maybe I have it all wrong and it really is because I'm used to Rex's screaming and tantrums though.

I would like to see something like this when we have a bad game to see if there is any fire in this guy that is lit when it needs to be. Unless we never have a bad game again under this guy, in which case I'm perfectly okay with.

Bowles doesn't get too high or too low when he's on the field, that's what I like best about him. Rex's screaming and tantrums didn't do any good for the Jets in the past. All indications so far are Bowles holds his players accountable. We didn't see what Bowles said to Cro after that TD.

Revis said something about this back before we traded him....something like "As a corner... you have to have a short memory. this is the NFL, receivers are going to make catches."

Can't let a big play unravel you....got to line up and try to beat them on the next play. I like Bowles isn't shouting or going crazy...All business.

Man, this guy is so different. Unlike what we have had, there is something unique about this coach. We still have been burnt too much to boast here, I'll just enjoy the ride

different approach. more like belicheck... whats done is done more focused on what he can control, i.e. the next play.

its encouraging to me that he seems so prepared, to identify whats coming. needs to comunicate it better maybe.

The NFL replay of the game the announcer (not sure who?/probably former NFL player) says "Cro, always looking in the backfield" (that was really bad defense on Cro... 3rd & 19...c'mon veteran corner).

Exactly. If your head coach is calm then your team is calm. That's why we will most likely see a decrease in personal fouls, offsides and too many men on the field penalties.

i prefer the HC a bit more animated myself, but ultimately i don't think it matters.
no one personality is the 'right' personality for a coach, so long as they stay true to themselves.

Rex's act wore thin with me. He could throw as many tantrums on the sideline as he wanted, you think the players felt scolded? It was all for show, once they got into the locker room "he was like a friend or a brother." Bowles may not clown it up and throw his headset on the ground, but you know that when a player screws up there will be consequences.

Bowles played under Joe Gibbs. You don't get anymore stoic on the sidelines than Gibbs.

Concerning Cro and Marcus Williams - Bowles made it clear that you can lose you starting job to injury. Just ask Geno. If Williams plays well, Cro will not be handed the job back when he gets healthy. That is Bowles holding players accountable.

Head coach needs to set the tone for his team. Looks like Bowles is doing a great job so far for the jets.

Bowles yells out "Cro! Out and Up!"

Cro cheats outside, expecting the ball to go there.

The receiver runs a stop and go, catching Cro flat-footed as he is making a move to cover the outside route.

    What happened there?

Cro is clearly looking in the backfield and lets the receiver get behind him. Cro missed the 'up' part.

It looks like he's really involved in game planning and studying opposing players and all that. Really impressive how he saw that route, that throw coming. And rather disappointing that Cro didn't. Maybe it was all the years of having Rex here go nuts all the time if something bad happens but I expected Bowles to cuss Cro out after the play. Instead he goes just goes "alright, let's reload" like nothing happened. Priceless. This is the type of attitude that helps you survive games, fight back and get stronger the longer these games last. Cussing out a player after a mistake doesn't help you in any way, they know they messed up, they know their job is on the line. No need to point it out to them and kill their confidence even more.
