Fitz is fine as long as we don't have to throw the ball every play. The series after the TD Cro gave up is a perfect example. I was screaming at the TV to stick with the gameplan and run the ball. Instead we panicked as though we were down multiple scores and threw the ball every down which led to the predictable Fitz INT. Thank God for Marshall's hustle!
Thank you Fitzpatrick, hopefully he can keep playing at a respectable level and Sweet Chin Music never takes another regular season snap for this team
I never said anything about our offensive weapons, so how are they much better than I'm giving them credit for? I'm not saying Fitzpatrick is Joe Montana, but he delivered the ball to the WR's, I don't know what else you want him to do. Not every QB can make that fade throw to Marshall. Not every QB could have led Decker on that TD pass. Not every QB could have dropped that ball into Owusu's hands. Not every QB could have made the back shoulder throws he made. I'm sorry, but you have to be fair and give credit to Fitzpatrick.
Most staring nfl qb could do those things and im pretty sure that wasn't a true fade he just threw it high. Whether you like it or not, def didn't play a great game. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Please stop. Marshall made Fitz today. Fitz made a crucial error and threw a horrible pick down 7-0. Marshall made the play of the game and it led to a TD. Fitz had the benefit of a receiver (Marshall ) who he can throw to when he isn't open and still makes the catch. Smith never had a receiver like that and Decker was hobbled a good part of last year. The other key to the game was the turnovers. The Jets dee had no turnovers last year. Marshall and the turnovers were the difference. It was not the QB.
Thats my point. In every year of the last 7 it was the QB that gave us the loss or it was "despite the QB play". I'll take average over bottom.[/QUOTE]
I'm not a Fitz guy at all and I can admit that I'd rather see Geno out there. But outside of a series or two and the bad int, he played a solid game. I can't complain with what I seen from him in week 1.
What Fitz didn't do was give the game away. That was the calling card left by our last 2 QB's. He might not win the game with his arm, but he's a hell of a lot less likely to lose it by making numerous bone head decisions.
If this defense continues to mature, all Fitz has to be is smart and average and we can go far. I "love" the fact that NBC totally jumped over the Jets as the team that could unseat the Pats. Perhaps, Better to fly "under the radar"
Says you...I was plenty worried after the INT just before the Marshall strip play and his previous couple of throws that he was reverting back to form. And I wasn't worried about Favre every play until that dopey last month of the season where he played hurt to keep his streak alive.
This thread will implode into a three ring circus ounce Fitzpatrick tosses' 3 picks and we get beat down, and its sure to happen, stay tuned
Quite possibly as soon as next week although the Colts' D stinks they'll do much better on the track at home where they can outrun people and avoid getting smacked in the mouth.
