I only noticed it on one play in particular, but how often were the Jets in the 4-3 today. The interesting thing is that the one time I noticed it it was Hobson with his hand on the ground, not Thomas as I would have expected.
i thought you were talking about our record.... but yeah, they were in teh 4-3 every once in a while.. whenever they had 4 WRs split wide, we were really in a 4-2 with 5 defensive backs.. but its close to a 4-3
Whenever it's an obvious 3rd and 10+ type of passing situation, they usually bring in Dave Ball and rush Ball-Robertson-Ellis-Thomas or some combination of it. I don't really like it, because Ellis is better off the edge.
I think its cool to be able to use either. It does make it hard on the players though, but when you have so many lbs and one or two can play dline, then mabey. i just wish that we had an NT to make either work properly
It wasn't quite 4-3 , It was our version of the nickle. However, yes, it is nice to have a 4 man front from time to time. I think the announcers discussed this also. They were impressed with the versatility.
