What was with the trade for DeVier Posey? The guy didn't really cost us anything and was just a spot filler, but who actually thought the guy was worth the time spent on him. Also, letting Simms go free was a huge mistake. He was our #2 for a whole season and could have been again. No way Flynn and Johnson are better! For the matter, neither is Smith. When the Bills release Simms, I half expect the Jets to pick him up again. A smart move the GM made was cutting Freeman now, I am expecting the Jets to put Freeman on the PS as soon as it opens. By cutting him early when most teams are trimming their rosters to 75 it allows us to resign him to the PS as soon as the final cuts take place and we won't have to wait for him to clear waivers.
Well we did have 5 QB'S on the roster. Simms didn't stand out as spectacular to the CS or gm... or fans. Buffalo has no one at QB and he's doing nothing there. You never know who will step up and shock the cs. Posey was given a chance and as you said, cost nothing.
Just wanted to get my to cents in---- I think these too problems are way two small for us too waste our time discussing. I'm tired of talking about our former third string QB, to.
Wasn't Posey just a throw in for moving back 12 spots. I highly doubt they were getting another pick if he wasn't in the deal. Zero risk acquisition. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
DeVier was worth that small trade just to see what he can do in camp. It really wasn't like they traded a 3rd for him...he was part of a small package deal. They were doing due diligence on a possible surprise player...and it didn't pay out...but the investment was so small. I don't have any issues with that. Matt Simms was not ever going to be a starter. With Bryce Petty, Simms days would have been numbered anyways. I could care less about a 3rd stringer.
If they're too small, then why even make a thread? I mean if there were numerous issues, say two or more, then maybe I'd understand.
