Not sure how many watching but not pretty 1st Drive Kellen Davis has a false start after Fitz was moving the ball decent punt and no return. Defense look poor as Falcons get a HUGE pass completion to their FB with Coples trailing in his wake. 2nd Drive a three and out with a missed tackle by Kellen Davis on the punt return means Hester gains 40+ yrds, Bilall Powell saves the TD. Shortly thereafter Cro fails to set and his receiver goes in for a second Falcons TD Jets third drive Fitz gets it moving initially but Davis gets call for a hold and they are backed up. Get the first down but later two missed assignments by the guards, first Colon leads to a 4 yrd loss for Ivory and then Carpenter falls and gives up a sack. On the next punt the Falcons returner does not call for a fair catch and Bohanon met hom perfectly and refs call a personal foul Falcons second team stall but so does our 1st team and again some poor coverage and missed tackles Bowles not looking happy at all and nor should he the Offense is not firing at all and this isa worry as most of the starters are there. Positive Marshall looks good and ..................our 1st team Defense can stop their second team offense But the offese still cant move it well
Finally a play and Leonard Williams gets sack for a safety Was virtually unblocked but now what can the O do - Fitzs last pass previous drive was batted down Bilall Powell reaks a run for 45 yrds but called back for a hold on Decker Short pass to Marshall and he turns it into a 30 yrd gain. Shortly thereafter Ivory takes it 33 yrds and in in for a TD . Jets go for 2 and Fitz hits Marshall on a slant to get the score 14-10
Fitzpatrick doesn't scare anyone. Yeah sure he'll have a decent game from time to time, but so do most back-up QBs. He is what he is, which is a journeymen QB. Once Geno gets healthy, he will start. He's gives the offense the best chance to succeed for just this year.
Leonard Williams has a second sack - worked for this one Second Team Offence on now led by Petty, lets hope he does better and he does with a 21 yrd pass completion to Kerley. Unfortunately as Kerley is tackled he falls into the back of Shaq Evans who stayed down for some time and left under his own power but limping. Next play Petty rolls out and under pressure GUNS it for a 1st down to Kerley for 17 yrds , Falcons challenged but not enough to overturn IMO. FIRST DOWN JETS B Powell has a few nice runs, but when he goes for 11 to the goal line Kellen Davis gets called for a hold AGAIN!!!

Really poor discipline in the 1st half with 11 penalties - edited as I forgot the Revis flag 3 on Kellen Davis 2 holding and 1 false start 2 on Walls - holding and PI 1 on Revis holding 1 on Decker holding 1 on Bohanon personal foul (SHAMEFUL CALL) 1 on Skrine - illegal contact 1 on Winters - false start 1 on Folk for having a KO go out of bounds This is not good and is on course to surpass the game against the Bills 2 yrs ago for total penalties conceded.
That was so bush league at the end of the 1st half, kicking a chip shot 29 yard FG with Mr. automatic Nick Folk, like he needs to practice that. Should have let Petty have another shot at the end zone, see what the kid can do. That was so Kotite-esqe, ugh. ....and someone needs to tell Ian Eagle that these are preseason games...no, seriously, he's as clueless today as he was 20 years ago! Flags were concerning but these refs were really flag happy for a preseason game, atleast it seemed that way.....That personal foul on Bohannon on the punt return was absolute garbage even for the new pussified NFL
This has been brutal to this point. Hopefully it comes together for them soon, if not this looks like it will be a dissapointing season. The offense looks terrible against other starters, the defense they look lost. Thank god it's just pre season.
Matthew Stafford and Matt Ryan vs. Vanilla Defenses who aren't game planning should score with ease. Nothing to worry about at all. If Eli is scoring with ease next week, then we can begin to worry.
Watching the replay........ 1). Offensive line is, well, very offensive.... Sucks bad!! 2). Our Linebackers are gonna be picked apart on pass coverage all year. We can always play nickel and dollar packages all game and hope that opposing teams don't run it down our throats. Our linebackers are so slow and cannot read the QB at all. Our front 3 to 4 is going to be awesome, so let them defend the run with Davis and maybe Mauldin assisting, with the secondary (5-6 players all game) pulling double duty. 3). It's way too soon to judge Bowles, but 2 pre-season games in, and he looks more lost than Rex did. 4). Fitz atleast threw a bunch of short completions (key word.... complete!!), which is kind of nice considering our QB history AKA Nacho, and Geno loved to complete passes to the other team. Nice change anyway!! 5). God the penalties!!! Coach, fix it please!! 6). Pray Ivory doesn't miss any time due to injury. 7). We may have something in Bryce Petty, he looked ok. Maybe Flynn can contribute, we don't know yet. With Geno out, we have options. 8). We have some weapons in our WR corp. can't wait till Smith can play. 9). Will one of our TE's please stand up? We need one of them to catch 40-50 passes this year. If they do, the WR corp will put up great numbers, and our QB will ( whomever it is ), make us forget about the two consecutive debacles know as "Nacho/Geno" Anybody wanna add thoughts to our first two pre-season games?
