It's tough for sure--but one could suspend him from team activities for 48 hours and try to figure out a way to keep him.
Maybe if he had a scuffle with a teammate that didn't lead to anything you could do this, but he cost the starting QB 10 weeks, and put him into surgery. That's an absolute no go, he had to be released.

Lots of people talking about how good a teammate IK is in addition to the charity work he does. It's easy to say that he had to cut him but sometimes what seems obvious at the moment in not the best course. We lost what I think was a up and coming OLB. I personally think he lost emotional control and I don't know that qualifies him to be immediately cut.
I have triple his post count, and a measured IQ of 147... So by all your indicative measures I am smarter than most everyone, IKE NEEDS TO BE OUT OF THE NFL FOREVER. I typically respect your posts but in this case, I respect it but think you are reacting to something beyond what actually occurred. Who has more say in what belongs in the NFL--you are rex ryan? Like it or not, not everyone's opinion is valid or equal. Some people are smarter, have more experience, more knowledge on a subject than others. The idea that everyone's opinion is equal is 21st Century BS, and is a big part of what's wrong with this country.

I agree with you--but when it comes to Rex ryan's opinion vs. a typical jets fan regarding what the nfl is about, who can say its the jets fan? It's typical message board drama and its comical. I just hate to see us lose IK even under these circumstances. I think he could have contributed to a successful season.
