We get to see Petty gets reps as well as seeing how Marshall looks, Amaro in year 2, Pryor's progression, Marcus Williams, Dex etc. Fitz might get a drive and we see Petty for probably the rest of the game.

All the negativity sourounding Geno and the numb nuts moves by the likes of IK, Geno and Sheldon, not to mention the crazy dooms day criticism of the coaching staff for the incidents was getting me sick. Ya don't play Fitz the qb that needs to build chemistry with our offense who has looked like shit in practices. You play him at least a couple drives. Guess it doesn't matter we wont win more then 9 games with Fitz and I doubt that makes the playoffs
NFL Game pass is free for 7 days and has all the preseason games. So that will cover the first one. International game-pass is expensive but totally worth it. If you live in the US you can't use it unless you use a VPN to tunnel your login outside the country; not sure if this is legal. less than the cost of 1 ticket to 1 game but gives you all the games and redzone. plus condensed versions of games are pretty cool too. I like to watch a condensed prior game of the other team before we play them.
Geno dropping when he did will likely throw everything off for tomorrow's game. I am looking forward to the home opener next week against the Falcons. We will see how they adjust tomorrow though. Maybe Fitzpatrick in the 1st Q, Petty in the 2nd, Heaps the entire 2nd half?

It's just unreal that we have a new coach, GM, consensus top player in the draft, 5 time pro bowl receiver, best DB in the game and the most intriguing QB prospect of the draft as brand new additions and we're still focused on off field nonsense.

I'm extremely concerned about depth. Are we saying that by going into a pre-season with Fitz, Petty Heaps, that's it? No camp bodies? We cancelled the work out by Thigpen, but I think (understatement) that we are extraordinarily thin at QB depth. No Flynn or Grossman? Nothing? Concerning...
I wouldn't even bother with Heaps tomorrow. The Steelers let Landry Jones take every snap of the Hall of Fame game, I'd do the same with Petty. Let Fitz play 2-3 series and have Petty ride it home. No offense to the kid, but any snaps for Heaps are just wasted reps that we could be giving to a QB who will actually be on the roster, and coincidentally needs development.

Can you guys just imagine the next flood of journalistic and fan turmoil if Bryce lights up the preseason opening game with a stellar and poised performance? The sharks would be out in mass developing the newest controversy, screaming for Fitz's head...and Geno will be a forgotten wounded soldier later to be traded to the Eagles. Meantime in the frozen Buffalo wilderness IK will lobby for Rex to get a tattoo of him instead of Sanchez, only to find out that Sanchez might be on his way to Buffalo, with a $600 check in his pocket. Coming off a broken leg that 3 extra weeks of healing and strengthening can make a difference. And hopefully we'll have someone else with experience signed as a backup before the regular season starts in case disaster strikes and he goes down again.
I know we don't want him to get injured, but Fitz still needs some competitive reps with the first team. I'd play him for atleast a few series this game, then Heaps, and then Petty the whole second half. If it turns out that Heaps doesn't get any reps, then so be it.
