search tells me it was this. in reference to hope solo or some womens soccer player. i dont think it had anything to do with a single post as was said earlier, just that he continued to do what he does after his whoopin a month or so ago.
Here it is almost a week later and we're still talking about Junc. He's the Donald Trump of sports message boards. I don't know if he deserves to be banned for life. I'm sure there are reasons I don't know about. And the mods didn't just kick him off they gave him 50000 chances. I don't get the thin skinned posters who complained the most about him. Why take someone like him seriously and engage in monumental battles. Unless you just like to fight with people or have to have your own way all of the time. Just state your opinion reply and then leave.
Good point. I'll leave this thread open until Sunday evening. After the non-official mourning period for the dearly departed Junc ends, this thread will be closed soooo, post em while you can boys...
I think people were more frustrated with their threads being sabotaged with spin-off topics than any individual comments made by junc.
I didn't experience it because I never let it get that far with him. I'm also trying to cut it short with other obnoxious posters who are a lot more venomous than Junc ever was. You know, the attack dogs. But when it stops being fun if I don't like it I can split. The whole idea is to express your opinion, debate, maybe argue a little and then go forward. Not to get into these knock down drag out battles on sports, politics or anything else. I've learned things on opposite POVs esp in politics.
Any chance Junc can have a 24hr reprieve (a la Hornet) when the NCAA drops the hammer on the Tar Heels?
The bolded. Thats why he is still being talked about. Junc would come on here...hell...Im sure he lives here as a guest...and think the attention is worthy and would be the kicker why he should return. WRONG. The reason he is mentioned is simple. If senile uncle Leo slapped you across the face at the age of 10 ONE TIME..it would be a great story at holiday get-togethers. If that crazy bastard slapped you across the face everyday, Uncle Leo would be 6 feet under...with holiday get-togethers including stop-overs at his grave site for the annual "lets piss on Uncle Leos grave" event. Over 10 years of frustration allows several weeks of venting...and CMANS decision to allow it is a good idea...as is his decision to end it so we can all move forward and save the good parts for our personal therapists.
and again...I respect your opinion...but you only new Uncle Leo for 2 years. I would promise you...promise you if you knew him for several more years you would have had a problem with him. I was with him over 10 years and had my first problem with him 4 years ago...if my math is still decent, thats 6 years of no problems. Six years of me telling other posters to be bigger then him. Six years of "not being an attack dog" Six years of "cutting it short" Being fun and splitting? Why should I leave when 90 percent of the board is pretty cool. So, if junc had left in my second year on the site, I too would have the same opinion you have. Two sides to every story and I respect yours...It just doesnt fit my experience.
Friendlier place, yes. But average, and not informed. Sorry, I debated this one but the pending lock down forced my hand. I couldn't resist.
i dont deny that i have thought he was a bot created by the folks at unc having fun, you know the ones that actually go to class. my big problem with junc is that he spewed bullshit continuously and definitely changed the thought process of alot of newer posters who did not know his schtick. at points i felt it necessary to beat on him simply so that people didnt fall into the bs that he constantly spewed. he was a very adept poster at being just vague enough to leave himself an out most of the time or switching from you guys are fantasy football guys to look at the stats when it fit his argument. i would love a 24 hour period of junc next year. that would be funny. he would probably get in 1300 posts in that 24 hours. im also disappointed that i wont have this wonderful thread to come back to and reminisce about all the stupid things he said. go herm, go schotty, go pennington, go rex, go sancho. no go flacco, manning (x2) and especially namath.
I think it's futile to try to determine what he really thought, but it was clear he was going to refute anyone who challenged his thought process, hence the predictable derailments. At times I respected his thought process, but avoided prolonged challenges when I disagreed. It was only going to end one way. And it did.
