I'm not exactly sure how firing him midseason would have helped anybody. And I doubt anybody would want to be fired midseason. But you have to blame somebody when things go wrong. Rex always found somebody or something to put the blame on. And when things did work out he was the first to step up and expect people to bow down before him in awe of how great he is. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2015/0...tball-family-that-shaped-bills-coach-rex-ryan
The lack of responsibility Rex has taken for the 4 straight failed seasons of the Jets is mind blowing. I did not respect him before that, but after: just embarrassed for him. He is a joke. I hope he stays in Buffalo for at least 6 years. They have dumb ownership so he should stick around for awhile.
I believe Rex's Mom because that's the story he told her. But who tells their Mother the truth, anyways.
So Idzik was a control freak, gave Rex crappy players, and Rex suffered... Haven't we heard this before?
I didn't think there was a notch above the rhetoric he spewed here. The whole thing with him has been taken to 11 in Buff. Frankly, even though they are rival fans. To have a pro media manipulator like Rex working them into a lather is going to lead to all kinds of heartbreak. I don't see Rex's tenure being all that much better than it was here.
Buffalo hasn't made the playoffs this century. i'm pretty sure they'd sign up for 4 playoff wins, and a chance at the Super Bowl with no real QB.
Pretty sure he took the responsibility for the collapse in '11 pretty sure he said something along the lines of "I lost the pulse of the locker room" He had nothing to work with in '12 with all the crazy injuries that happened and the whole tebow thing that was sprung on him. Somehow in '13 with no offensive weapons and a horrible rookie qb we went 8-8. Nothing to apologize for there. Maybe he shouldn't have played Sanchez against the giants, but who knows if in the end in sanchez on our team was good for us in the long run. Last year Idzik didn't give rex a chance and we lost of bunch of 1 score games with an awful secondary. Rex isn't perfect, but he also would shoulder a lot of the blame and never throw his players under the bus. (Maybe he did a bit last year, but that season was lost early)
he didn't throw anyone under the bus last season. he took all the blame on himself, while publicly backing the players and even the FO. i didn't think he needed to do that, but he chose to take the high road on the way out. anyone could see what was going on last season. i wish him well, just not against the Jets. would've preferred him out of the division, as they will definitely play us hard.
For the most part he didn't, but I remember him after the second new england game criticizing geno for throwing a pick when we were around our own 20 yard line and the stupid sack he took when we were in good field goal territory. I don't blame him. Tough last game to lose at metlife against the pats we he pretty much called a perfect game.
