You rarely ever see worthwhile trades in football.

There's been some significant moves the last couple years though, and what about all the minor stuff this past preseason?

thats a great move for the Colts espically since Corey Simon has been worthless for them since the signed

I'm not that knowledgeable on the NFL trade-deadline. Is it similar to the MLB, on how trades can go past the deadline if teams are in negotiations.

McFarland is replacing the released Simon, just to clarify. I am actually puzzled that Fassel lasted as long as he did. I thought the Giantys were the only suckers.

    No.

MLB deadline is not what you say it is. It's HARD AND FAST 7/31 at 4pm, I believe, for non-waiver deals. In MLB, however, deals can happen after 8/1 if the players clear waivers (this can get complicated).

In football, deals must be SUBMITTED TO THE COMMISH prior to 4pm today. It may not be ANNOUNCED until later tonight, but it must be submitted today.

Also, NO DEALS can go down between now and the end of the league year.

Who did Tennessee end up getting with that 2nd rounder we sent for him? Or more importantly, what were players we could have been targeting around there that we missed out on?

Think it was the #42 pick that they used for Travis LaBoy. Notable names picked just after that include Julius Jones (#43), Michael Boulware (#53), Greg Jones (#55) and Keary Colbert (#62). :)
