I knew winning those two games against the Titans and Dolphins were going to bite us in the ass. By all estimation, we are in the week of the draft and the first 5 picks appear to be a lot like what I dread will happen. 1) Winston 2) Mariota 3) Fowler 4) Cooper 5) White 6) WTF do we do now? Leonard Williams is beast but we have guys like him in depth. Isn't he big to rush from the edge? Isn't he Wilk 2.0 All I know is if we are sitting on Leonard Williams, we better look at teams, especially the Falcons who desperately need a defensive game changer for a killer deal. Hoping this thread is a reverse jinx. Please
what could possibly make you think white is taken by washington instead of williams? leonard williams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ricky jean francois
If the Redskins go offense in round 1 it would be a mammoth mistake. Also if Williams is on the board we could get sweet trade down offers, he's regarded as one of the 2 best players in the draft.
I heard Skins picked up RG III $16M option for 2016. (LOL WUT) I have to think they are looking at getting him help.
Who the fuck knows what's going to happen... This draft is fucked!! Everything depends on what happens at 2
This is pretty much the same thread as the worse case scenario except this one is actually the worst. We need Williams to get drafted in the top 5 and we'll be fine.
If Williams is there at 6, I think that could be one of better scenarios. Arguably one of best guys in draft avail at 6 would entice a bidding war from perhaps NO/CLE who both have 2 1st rounders and in mid teens we can still acquire a top guy, maybe more value to snag a OL like Collins or Peat or an OLB like Dupree PLUS gain additional picks.
Are you kidding, this would be a DREAM scenario for us!!! We could trade down with a team that is salivating for Leonard Williams, and get a nice package in return! The Skins are already planning on shopping the pick if Williams slips to them, though, so your scenario likely won't happen anyway. If the Skins trade down, then we take White or Gregory. We win regardless.
I was looking at my work tv's here and saw that ESPN was doing their 423129 "Nation Mock Draft" and they had Randy Gregory dropping to 24th I think.
Luck has nothing to do with it, imo. It's just typical Jets stupidity. Of course Rex wanted to win to make himself look better, and by that time Idzik probably knew he was getting canned, but he probably wanted to win too. I wish Woody had ordered them to start Vick or Sims the last 3 weeks. If Williams is who falls, then I pray we can trade down, and then just take our future LT, be it Collins, Peat or Flowers. Then hopefully the BAPs at our picks in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds will be an OLB, WR and RB in that order.
Let's put that in the past and give our new regime a chance.....or at least wait to Thursday night to get pissed
I have no issue trying to trade down if someone is in love with Leonard Williams. Especially if CLE comes calling.
I'm not blaming our new regime. They had nothing to do with last season. I DO believe in our new regime, totally. I've never been more confident in a Jets HC and GM. Just winning those two meaningless games against the Titans and Miami is killing us.
WAS is looking to trade down for more picks. It's not inconceivable that someone trades up for White at 5. This draft reminds me somewhat of the 2008 draft in that there was a drop off after the top 5 rated prospects. We ended up with the Ghost.
Exactly. This might be the best scenario for us. We could possibly get a first next year and a second this year or more in addition to their first.
If Leonard Williams is sitting there at 6 (and people aren't banging the door down to trade up), just take him for ourselves. I don't care about redundancy or anything like that - if he's that good, then it will not hurt in any way to add him to the team - even if it means having to look elsewhere to fill more pressing needs.
