Yes, but you need to spend it on the right players. It seems like maccagnan is doing this.

I wasn't talking about overpaying for Revis. I'm talking about his smart signings in areas of need and a smart trade with little downside.

Yeah he has to do well in the draft but he's already made more smart moves than Idzik did.

I thought signing Revis was his best move and the most important to this fanbase.

You do realize that the topic is DRAFT strategy, right?

Most important yes. But I could've signed Revis if the money was that number.

Mods - feel free to change title to something less polarizing. My intent was to discuss the presser content not evaluate Mike or upset people with a nickname.

    Thats a foolish comment.

If he struck out in free agency the way Idzik did last offseason this board would be smashing him.

What's foolish is assuming signing free agents prior to a single game being played has proven something. If signing top free agents proved anything Dan Snyder would be considered a football genius.

I guess if the Jets finish 4-12, still have no answer at QB and don't have 900 bazillion in cap room it would be a worse situation that the previous GM left. Hopefully that's something we never have to debate. Magic Mike. Right.

Spending cap money that the league mandated the Jets spend doesn't prove anything IMO.

Obviously the draft matters more than the FA period does. But to not give any credit to the GM for the moves isn't fair. The same way it's not fair to give him all the credit.

Yeah Woody opened the checkbook for the Revis signing. But like I said before I don't give anyone in the front office credit for that cause he was going to the top bidder anyways. But Mac made very smart moves elsewhere so to say he hasn't proven dick as a GM is mindboggling.

Bet if he only came out of the offseason with Skrine and Ridley you wouldn't be giving him his chance at the draft to show you what he's made of. You like 99 percent of the rest of our fanbase would be calling for his head.
