Simeon Rice is 32 years old. Here's his numbers this year:
    G 5
    Total 11
    Tkl 9.0
    Ast 2
    Sacks 1
    Int 0
    Yds 0
    Avg 0.0
    Lg 0
    TD 0
    Pass Def 1

His time is coming to a close. We don't need anymore stop-gaps, we have enough already.

The question is, why did he fall out of favor with Denny Green, so much so that the Cards are willing to trade him for "just about anything?"

I don't like the sound of that.

Leonard Davis is awful. Hes incredibly lazy and just tries to just get by. If the Cards are trying to unload him, and they have an awful awful O-Line, what does that say?

Rice would still help us a lot with the pass rush, we don't get enough pressure on the passer. He could be a really good addition if we could get him.

Davis is there best lineman... Denny fell out of favor with kendall and let him go. does it matter what problems he has with there coach? has kendall had any problem since he got here?.

not a chance in hell, hes built for the 4-3 and i really dont see him playing OLB.

plus hes getting old, and if the Bucs are willing to let one of the all time sack leaders go, in a defense thats showing age and needs improvement. theres not much left.

and hes pretty cocky to be honest, i live in tampa and i cant stand hearing him.

once was a HELLUVA PLAYER though. but definitely not built for our system. not unless we just brought him as a 2 down rushing LB. and he'll want to much money to do just that

I would like us to grab Davis, he would be an upgrade over clements and give us the roadgrader we need, I could care less about what dennis green thinks of him, he is a terrible coach. Also Kendall was a great addition. i bet I would get lazy and unmotivated if I was playing for a perennial go nowhere team

Oh dear god not randy moss. Give up Ramse yes but not for Moss let him suffer in Oakland. As for all the people on the list Clements is the only one that really interests me. Like others has said Rice is old and Davis is junk but a good proven corner is obviously useful. Put Miller on special teams and watch him get a TD every game or so.

Clements has not been playing well this season. He has missed a number of tackles. He'd fit right in with the Jets!

I agree with your reasoning and disagree with any mid-season trades ever, but if there's a FO in the league right now with the balls and freedom to pull one off, it's ours.

Really, would you rather keep a 5th rounder that'll have only a small chance of being good, or take a shot at a top guy that could maybe help the run game once he gets in.

Rice would be a great addition to the Jets. We need to improve our pass rush, and Rice could certainly help out in that respect. I wonder what Tampa wants for him....

As far as Kelly goes, he's another player that could help the defense out a ton. With Barrett being injured with his hip Kelly would make a nice fit.

Same goes with Clements from Buff....I'm not sure if the Jets would have enough room to wiggle a long term deal with with respect to the cap. That, as well as the fact it would be tough to pull off a trade with a division rival. We came close to getting a former Buffalo player (Winfield) and that fell through. I'd really like to see Clements in Jet green, but I think Buff would try to rake us over the coals.

Davis would also work nicely at RT, but Clement has done a pretty good job since he got the starting nod over Jones. You can never have enough depth at OT....

I'd like to see the Jets make a move or 2 to improve the team, and I think that the first 2 I pointed out would really be able to come in here and make an impact right away. Hopefully we see Gang Green make a move or two to solidify the defense.

Should be interesting to see what moves the Jets try to make, or pull off. I don't think we're going to be able to pull any of those moves off. Let's hope they do though.
