Marshall is probably a 1 year rental as he can be cut next year. Decker probably has 2 years. Both Marshall and Decker have a history of injuries and we still need depth. Lets face it... There is an 80% chance we can walk away with either White or Cooper in this draft. Anything can happen, but it seems pretty safe to assume both with be awesome in the NFL. If I am Macagnan I am not messing around with my first NFL draft pick. Cooper/White will help us next year and in the near future.
I don't think Marshall is a one year rental but I agree WR is still a need. If the QB's are gone, Cooper should be the pick.
Definitely not a huge need. Jets just need to take the best player available if thats a WR then I'm good with it.
No it's not. lmao. Why does decker only have 2 years left? he's only 27.. he's under contract for 4 more seasons . Same with Kerley. Marshall may only be here for a year or two but we will draft guys. WHo knows maybe we still look at Kevin White or Cooper and let them slot it out until Marshall leaves.. but it definitely isn't a huge need for another two-three years AT LEAST. We're almost to the point where our only HUGE need is a pass rusher, and a passer! Everything else is good.
not a HUGE need. this tandem can conceivably work through 3 years, we don't need to be overaggressive at WR anymore. but this is an excellent time to take advantage of the rookie wage scale and develop some WR's on the fly without putting the world on their shoulders. shore up the back of the depth chart with special teamers and players with potential. Evans and enunwa are good starts, we need to acquire the cheap and valuable depth with upside. a Hill type for instance works better now than it did a couple years ago...
Slow your roll. Not a need, draft bpa. Realize it may be a while until were in a position to draft one of the top 2 qbs, both capable of going #1. If there is any need, it's makin the right decision on a qb if one is available. Can make the franchise for the next decade. Could also be a waste of a top 6 pick.
This thread is nuts. With Marshall, Decker, Kerley, and Amaro, receiver is at the very bottom of the needs list. There is only one ball. With needs at QB, DE/OLB, Guard, OL,depth, RB and Safety, WR is NOT a need at all, lae alone a huge need. If the pick is not Mariotts, it needs to be one of the DE/OLBs.
Fowler in the 1st, Dorsett in the 2nd, Petty in the 3rd, OL/S/RB the rest of the way, based on best options available. I like doing BPA for the most part, but not at CB or TE, and preferably not at DL. If we aren't going BPA, then my draft above would be along the path I'd hope we follow.
Marshall is at most gonna give us two solid seasons assuming he stays on the field and healthy and out of jail. Decker is made of glass. Kerley shouldn't have been resigned. I sure hope our new front office isnt fooling themselves into thinking we should pass on Cooper or White
Have you seen him throw? He looks the part of a prototype pocket passer. just a matter of when he's picked
Have u seen him play he comes from a spread offense in Baylor he isn't good maybe he can turn out good but I wouldnt take him higher then 4th round
Man I am having deja vu I could have sworn I used the term "prototypical pocket passer" 10mins ago in another thread
I hear you. At the combine he threw pretty good. He lacked touch at times. It was impressive tho. I think you're right, he'll go in the later rounds. But somebodies gonna wanna see if they can strike gold with him. There's not a lot guys to try in the later rounds. But if we don't get MM or JM I could see us drafting a guy later.
