If Mariotta drops to the Jets at #6 and the Eagles want to trade with the Jets, why is everyone so high on Foles as part of the trade? I understand that getting Foles could be better than Smith, but remember Foles excelled in Chip Kelly's system. What makes those high on Foles think he can perform with the Jets? Look what happened to Matt Cassell once he left Belichickenshit's system. Samething with Mallet. It's evident to me that by trading for Marshall, I don't think Gee-NO will be throwing to him. I think the Jets have something else going on like getting a FA QB. But I don't think that everyone should want Foles to be the one QB that the Jets are looking for... If he's part of the trade (if it happens) then okay, but I'm not looking for Foles to be the savior or even the one that pushes Smith.
Because if we do trade back with the Eagles, getting Foles would be nice. Foles still has potential, but Chip Kelly has a huge boner for Mariota.
I would rather have Kendricks or OL from the Eagles if we are getting a player as part of the deal. There is a reason Kelly wants to move on from Foles and go all in for a rookie instead.
Foles has proven he can play in this league (to some extent) and it's not just Foles, you would be getting a ton of picks as well. I think that's what's more appealing than drafting an unproven prospect.
I understand that Chip has a hard on for Mariotta (because he fits Chip's system) but Foles really isn't all that at QB especially when we have a new coach. Trust me, if he comes I hope he proves me wrong.
That doesn't necessarily mean anything. I bet you if Mariota wasn't in this draft, he'd stick with Foles. Chip Kelly is just obsessed with Mariota.
I think people are looking at him as just a part of the trade. I dont think its about trading for Foles, its more about stock piling draft picks (if they dont like Mariota) while upgrading over Geno at the same time. If the Jets dont love Mariota and Winston is off the board, then this just might not be the year for the Jets to draft a QB. If thats the case then i'd be fine taking a shot with a guy like Foles.
But the truth is Mariotta IS in the draft. If Mariotta falls to us, then the Eagles, I mean the Ducks will have to pay heavy for him. That is the part I like.
He didn't really OUTPERFORM him by that much. Even still, I'd take a chance on Foles. We all know what Mark Sanchez is, but Nick Foles still has a chance to grow.
Im more down on Mariota then I am high on Foles. All I know is Foles would be better than anything we currently have and anything we could sign. He'd be brought in on a one year deal. If he kills it and looks like a good player then we sign him and have a QB for the future. If he bombs we go back to the drawing board , no harm no foul. If the choice that the Eagles give us are either Foles or a 3rd rounder I take Foles.
Who's gonna take him? If Tampa doesnt then no one 2-4 is going to. And then the Skins arent gonna trade with the Eagles. Unless an unknown team jumps up to 2 or 3 to get him I cant see how he doesnt drop to 6.
Foles was a fluke. He's not a good QB. I don't mind doing a huge trade with Philly for the #6 picks...but I'd prefer they get one of Philly's guards and 2 1st rounders.
Rams could possibly want him Browns could possibly want him And all this talk about the Eagles trading they might trade up ahead of jets to get him
It's anyone but geno for the most part.. I don't hate geno, I didn't hate sanches. 6 years of awful qb play is enough. I want anyone who can throw more tds than interceptions.. I can't watch them build another team and not go anywhere cause qb oplay is awful..ni just want avg at this point... Only thing I can say for sanchez, as poor as his regular seasons were. He never lost the jets a playoff game. I have no faith in smith to get the jets there
Rams are really the only team I could see but they seem to want to roll one more time with Bradford. Browns would catch hell after the Manziel garbage.
