One thing to keep in mind is w/ his mental health issues he has become a big advocate, now he will be in #1 media market. If this doesn't motivate him to perform and do all the right things off the field then nothing will.
Well all we need is an improvement at QB. And even if Foles is average, its likely he is better than Geno. If Foles was proven he likely wouldnt be available for trade right now. But with all the mediocrity on the FA market and the uncertainties of the draft , a guy like Foles might be the best thing out there. Is it worth giving Geno the keys again when we might only have Marshall for 1-2 seasons? Thats a bigger risk then trading for Foles. Id rather have both QB's on the roster. Atleast with a QB like Foles it would be a true competition in training camp.
he's been pretty straight in the third biggest media market in the league since he found out he was borderline. I think he's got it under control now that the problem has a face. cool story really.
I remember how odd #19 looked on Key at first, he started all the 10-19 WR #s but I think 15 is his preferred # as he was 15 in Denver
Do you guys think that this deal has anything to do with the Eagles/Mariota trade rumors? or do you think it was just a smart move by our new GM?
I wouldn't count on Mariota being on the board at 6. So anything we do today really shouldn't be factoring Mariota in.
It's pretty clear at this point that either a QB will be drafted or a vet stopgap will be sought out one way or another. The only way Geno sees the field is if one of those things happen and He magically figures out how to outperform a highly regarded rookie or a grizzled vet. In other words, it won't be happening. Geno could be a nice backup however, and if the backup ends up starting that's usually through no fault of the organization due to injury and the year would likely be toast regardless of replacement.
this is simply a smart move by our new GM. You can't speculate on any kind of trade stuff as there as waaaayyyyy too many moving unknown pieces to that situation. No, this was a fantastic and proactive move by our GM to get a better receiver for less money/compensation in picks. Period.
its a crapshoot at QB regardless of this move, rookie Mariota ,Geno, Foles, Moore, whatever. we got a great WR for all of them, thats what should be taken away.
I didn't realize he's only 30 still. He's great for playing the in Northeast too. Big body (window for QB), hard to bring down
on paper we have an outstanding group to throw to for the QB that should make any QB look better. also, what if we get Spiller? we had some talent to work with, people act like we were the '76 Bucs.
Great Move!!! Prob release Harvin..Does anyone think the FO will waste this trade with iffy throws fr on Mr Smith?? The QB is on order to get Marshall the ball.
I like it! Decker and Marshall should give DBs all kinds of trouble. Now we just need a QB who can throw them the ball.
its also a good way of ensuring talent comes HERE. Jets fans want Cobb but they're not the only ones… this clears the deck for us to focus on our secondary next week. all in all a good move, with a nice amount of risk taken on.
