I'll be honest I'm not the most knowledgable college football guy and I know people are gonna say it's just good combine numbers and whatnot, but did anyone say those couple plays of film they showed during the combine? He had one play where he just burned a back to the outside and then went UP for a ball in the corner of the end zone. Looked unbelievable
Amari Cooper is the premier WR in this draft class. White is good but not in Cooper's league. Of course Cooper might not fall to us so it might be a moot point anyway.
He is unreal he was in the gym preparing for the draft as soon as the plane landed from the bowl game. He's the real deal.
White had a great day at the combine, but I still like Parker more than him right now. Parker has shown better route running ability with similar athleticism.
Would love either guy at #6 but I've still got Amari at #1a because his footwork is so smooth and he exudes so much class and character. I always played DB so I'm not an expert but on tape you can really see it on the deep plays where he slows up, uses small, choppy steps but remains so balanced and upright Part of me would love to see an OLB at #6 because this team has the personell to mimic what SF was able to do with Aldon but the opportunity to put a freak WR opposite of Decker who I think is a true professional in his approach to the game and the locker room is so tempting.
Nope it has to be offense. Draft a first round defensive player, and it is the same shit we have put up with over the last few years. We could not have screwed up 12 picks in one of the heaviest WR laden drafts anymore if we had tried. This has to be the dawn of realizing we need to score. Be it O Line, QB or WR, we have to draft with a purpose.
He was considered a likely top 10 pick before the combine, the combine just cements it. He is my pick if the QBs aren't available. With that said I would move heaven and earth to get one of the QBs.
This is a terrible way to look at things. If the best LB in the draft is sitting there at 6 and we take him, then it was a good move.
I think if it's between White and Mariota, I'd rather have White. I think he's a more of a sure thing and can help the team now. Mariota is a project and probably won't be ready until at least year three. This team needs explosiveness and White or Cooper fit that bill. After the geno situation, I'm not ready to put up with another young QB who needs to grow into the game.
Kevin White is a freaking beast. He looks like a jacked up version of Julio Jones minus the injuries / recurring foot issues.
So you'd rather just put up with Geno? Besides, there's no way it takes Mariota 2-3 years to develop. No way. White will be useless if we don't have a QB to get him the ball.
I think we need to see what the kid can do with the right tools. You cannot predict how long its going to take Mariota to be good quarterback, Nobody can... If you can, then you should be rich because you'd know the future.
Been calling for Kevin White for a couple weeks now, he's definitely the best WR. If we got him I'd be pumped.
Basically what today did was basically lock us getting one of Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, Kevin White or Amari Cooper if we stay at the 6th pick. It's going to be an exciting draft day, that's for sure.
You have to be impressed with White's tape and now his combine, but that doesn't mean Cooper isn't equally as impressive. He put up a very quick 4.42 40 plus he had a combine leading 3.98 20yd shuttle and 3-cone drill. Those are some impressive numbers to go along with his tape. I personally don't think we could go wrong with either one and keep going back and forth between them. Cooper has much better short area quickness and twitch, and he kinda looks like a bigger and faster version of Antonio Brown. White on the other hand is like Ike Turner out there and makes the football his bitch. He plays angry but in control. Either way I think we're in a good position to get one of them and may even have our choice.
