All the very very early draft talks and others have talked about replacing lbs, dline, rbs and so forth but no one talks about our secondary??

I believe that our secondary has a lot of potentail but isnt performing as it can.
Is dyson gonna be here long leading ths cbs?
Are we set at Both safeties?
Is one or more of our Colemans in the secondary gonna step up and start?
    Are we set at secondary?

Or Eric Coleman to gain the motivation he had his rookie season.

Dyson I believe will be a stay at CB, he's only 26.

Miller is only 22, but has took a hit on the learning curve thus far in his SHORT career, yes short career. It's his 2nd freaking year and people are pissing on this guy as if he's a 5-year vet. He's freaking 22!!

Rhodes is exciting and will be set...But next to him i'm not sure...

Coleman's been barely average, they'll need another safety if he doesn't go back to playing like he did in 2004. Miller will be on the team because he's a great KR and athlete, but he needs to improve his cover skills. Dyson and Rhodes should be fixtures, and Barrett can be a nice #2/#3 guy. He's not great, but he gets way too much shit from Jets fans on this site.

The only lock in the secondary going forward is Rhodes. Every other position is up for grabs.

it is a league that demands immediate results...players barely get a break for their rookie season
it seems qb is the only position that gets a 2 year grace period
i want to see him succeed, but the "he is only 23 excuse" wont fly next year
im willing to give a pass to the secondary because of the terrible condition of the d-line

Dyson and Rhodes are set. Barret is good for depth, and Miller has potential but he has to start producing soon in defense. Eric Smith and Coleman (CB) are still rookies. Washington and Eric Coleman can be upgraded easily. And after the way the secondary played the last couple games, I don't think it is set at all.

Uh, no. Have you been watching these games? The secondary lets up all the time, especially on third down. I would say they've all failed. I don't know who to blame, but I would surmise to say they all need shaking up. But to be fair to them, it won't matter who we have back there if we don't have a pass rush. I mean you can only cover for so long before you get burnt, or a called penalty gets thrown at them.

Rhodes I think will be a future star at safety, but Coleman needs to regain his potential that he showed two years ago. I think we have good, young cornerbacks to fill up that position in Dyson, Miller, and Barrett.

i wouldnt mind them signing mike lewis from the eagles, that would give as a kick as secondary with

    LCB-dyson
    FS-Rhodes
    SS-Lewis
    RCB-Miller
    NB-Barret

    I would like that alot

I like Dyson in coverage, then Barrett, the others I don't like in coverage at all.

We need another CB opposite of Dyson that means either Miller steps up and becomes that corner or we get one somewhere else, cant spend any high draft picks on one with everything else we have to upgrade so maybe FA. I think pass rush would be a big help a good pass rush can make a bad secondary look good. I dont see the safety spot as a huge need I think one of the safties on our team now can be good enough.

whats making our secondary look bad is our def line and line backers. i mean they get no pressure on the qb and cant stop the run. week in and week out we give up 350+ yards. if u take the best secondary players in the league and put them with our front seven theyd look like s*** to. i think all the players in our secondary are adequate starters if not pro bowlers(dyson and rhodes who might make it anyway) if u gave them the support up front..........that being said get robertson out and start moore, whenever i see moore in the game it seems like hes makin a play and robertson has been a ghost so far.
