I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of the 3-4. I'm sick of letting everyone runall over us because we don't have enough guys stacked at the line of scrimmage. They have holes the size of Rosie Odonell to run through, and we don't have the talent available fill those gaps.

I'm also sick of watching our opponents pass a ball to guy, when there are no Jets within 15 yards. We give so much cushion, and our CB's are just looking at the QB and have NO CLUE where the receiver is, who happens to be running past him and down the sidelines 10 YARDS AWAY!

Then there's our marriage to the run. I'm gonna let the secret out gentleman...WE CAN'T RUN THE BALL!!!....I know, you guys are gonna be pissed at me, when other teams come here to read my posts, they will be on to our huge secret.....

So we can't run the ball because they are able to dominate the line of scrimmage, and fill every gap quickly. SO WHAT DO WE DO? In honor of Hackett, we decide to do passes BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE!...Their guys have already penetrated our weak ass line and are raoming around out there, let's just give them the ball while we're at it! If their WHOLE F-ING LINE has penetrated the LOS, then what happened to actually throwing hte ball down the field!!!!! Now, I understand Penny threw some RARE interceptions yesterday, but my gripe PRECEDES yesterdays game.

Please, NO MORE PASSING THE BALL BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. And try using the PASS to set up the RUN, 'cause we can't RUN ON THE FIRST TWO DOWNS, FACE A THIRD AND LONG, AND PASS THE BALL 3 YARDS BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE!!!!!!!!

I almost miss the 3rd and long draws....

And what the hell was Coles doing on the bench in the second quarter? Did Mangini give up? Why isn't our best receiver out there, possibly freeing up our hidden gem in Cotchery? Oh yeah, thats right, Coles goes DOWN THE FIELD, when we really need a receiver outthere who can sit three yards behond the LOS.

Barlow is a big part of the problem, IMO. He looks like he's running in quick sand. How many games does he get to stink it up in? He's getting tackled for 4 yard losses on hand-offs. I understand the blocking is bad...but still. Make a guy miss once in a while!!!! I was willing to give him another chance because he has scored 2 nice TDs from the 5, but enough is enough with this guy already. Here's an idea.......next time you give it to him is on a first and goal from the 5.

We could have Barry Sanders or Bo Jackson back there, and it wouldn't matter, when all of their guys have penetrated the line, maybe a quick slant to where NO ONE STANDING would be nice, seein how all the linebackers are rushing up at us.

The cushion is what gets to me. You don't want to get beat deep so keep everything in front of you. Result is they run everything short and then run right past you. Wilford had a 40 yard catch thanks to Miller's cushion. If you're going to continue letting receivers catch passes uncontested, at least learn to tackle.

I thought we had a decent day running the ball yesterday against a stout Jags D, and I think the week before was good as well in that regard. We rushed for over 100 yards each time.

ding ding ding...we have a winner! I hate seeing TWO of our CB's on that sidew of the field, and neither are with TEN yards!!! At least go man to man, and let the second roam for support!

i disagree, stats might say we had so-and-so rushing yards and that looks nice, but most of that came in mop-up time when they were just sitting back waiting for a pass. When it actually mattered we couldnt run the ball at all. Also for all the rushing yards we had in the 2nd half, we got stuffed when they actually put in run-stopping plays down by the goalline and on 3rd and shorts.

angry teste I agree with the passes behind the line of scrimmage, its pain-staking. I also can't stand that play at all where we take a WR (yesterday it was B. Smith) and we swing him around in motion behind the quarterback, kinda-like facing a reverse to him, and end up throwing the ball to him. EVERYBODY in the whole stadium can see it coming, it no wonder we havent gotten any yards on the stupid play, but we continue to run it every game.

Yeah... but it's not like the Jags didn't want that shut out and letting us run all over them certainly isn't going to help them reach that goal. I saw some nice runs yesterday... end of story.

they didnt let us run all over them. they built up a 38-0 lead and figured hell if they want to practice running the ball, go ahead. When it came down to it, they did want the shut out so they said enoughs enough and stuffed us.

I think Barlow shouldn't step on the field again unless its a goal line situation or 3rd and short. He obviously is not a starting RB and should only be put in situationally.

Leon should be getting ALL the reps and practice for him should be emphysizing the block for a long long time. His instincts are great. He needs to learn how to be a solid blocker for play action and pick up defenders. When that happens he very well could be C. Martins replacement.

The times Barlow starts getting yards is either goal line, 3rd and short, or when the oposing defense is already tired and beat. Then he starts breaking them down a bit more. But other than that he stinks up the place. Chaulk it up to a bad investment. But use him in the right situations for now.

Didn't Schotty call a draw to Neon Leon on 3rd and 15 in the first half?

    Shades of Joe Walton . . .

I figured since we were getting blown out the water you'd see alot of man on man coverages . spying on the quarter back would be useless at that point. but no there goes the jaguar's recievers with cushions of ten plus yards every time.

Cushion: Why would you give such large cushion. Third and six, you back ten or more yards. That's mind boggling. The WR take three steps turn, catch the ball, First Down. If speed is a problem, Swap the CB and Safety. Let the safety jam and stick the first five yards, then the speed of the cb over the top.

Rushing: Well, uh, umm, arrr, eee.
Tear up the rushing plays. Then design new plays to the strength of the line.

I was waiting to see if anyone mentioned the 3rd and long draw. We have at least one of those every game. Guess it really doesn't matter who the OC or HC is now does it, those plays still get called.

You know the scary part, there's nothing really wrong with it other then a) it typically pisses off the fan and b) rarely gets the first down but you see pretty much every coach in the league do it from time to time.

Right now I agree we are too dedicated to the run and to the 3-4. Though this past week was the first time we couldn't make any offensive or defensive adjustments to really get back in the game in any way, shape, or form.

Also too many penalties over all. Two were bogus but the Jets were pretty much done at that point anyway.

I do have to say this was the first game that really bothered me because the rest we at least played hard and had flashes, this past week we just got beat.
