Totally agree. This FSU team had too many underclassmen playing key roles. It's a testament to Winston that they are in this game. TCU should definitely be in their spot but it's hard to take that away from the reigning champs when they haven't lost a game.

I think the playoff committee needs to decide the criteria it will use going forward. If you wanted to put in the best 4 teams, you never would have selected Florida State. If you want to just go by record, bring back the BCS computer style system.
The good news with this display is Winston (Should) get humbled, something Manziel never experienced in college. This will be on the back of Winston's mind (IF) he comes out, but I would not be shocked if Winston doesn't want his Florida St career to end this way. It isn't a foregone conclusion Winston will leave, I think he has too much pride to go out of FSU like this.

I disagree entirely with all of you about FSU and it's not just because I'm a fan. Cook, a freshman excellent running back, fumbled the ball twice, resulting in two TD. Winston fights for his life to keep the fourth down alive and fumbles the ball for another TD. He then throws a pass that bounces off the arms of his receiver, into the arms of Oregon. Mistakes, I get it, but to sit here and say that they are an inferior team because of this game is absurd. Dumb mistakes. Two fumbles by a rookie. A dumb fumble by Winston and a dropped pass by a receiver that fell into Oregons hands.
If ND had any idea of how to play defense, they would have finished the Noles off. What a mess Notre Dame was. Good bowl win though.
FSU is sort of like the Cardinals in the NFL this season. Kept squeaking by and just waiting to get annihilated by a great team (like what Seattle did to Cards). Great teams don't win every game close. You cannot consistently win close games, the margin for error is just too slim. Winning decisively is the far better indicator of greatness. Margin of victory is more predictive of performance going forward than record.

FSU is the inferior team because they spent the majority of the season trailing football games. That doesn't happen to great teams. They are a 9-3 type team that had some bounces go their way. No business being in this playoff but the committee's hands were tied because of the record.
