~ ~ ~ Part 2: Can you think of a good run-blocking line that can't pass block? Or vice-versa. Let's go to the vice-versa first. I think the Jets' draft was geared toward putting pass-blockers in front of Chad Pennington. I'm not wild about the thrust they get on the running plays. The other way around would be tougher to come by. Usually a bunch of good run-blockers that produces a great rushing attack would have to do less pass-blocking because the team wouldn't throw as much. And constantly throwing from play action, because of the seriousness of the running threat, would also ease the pass-block load. Nope, can't think of a great run-blocking outfit that struggled trying to protect the QB. Thanks again, Pacman, for your kind words about my work.

This whole offensive line debate is starting to get tiresome. The Jets are starting a mediocre journeyman at right tackle and have had real injury issues at left guard. When we actually see 5 competent linemen on the field at the same time I'll start to worry about whether or not the Jet's focus on pass-blocking has been misplaced.

The last time the Jets had 5 really solid linemen was 2002, there's always been a hole or a developing hole somewhere since then.

who is this Dr. Z guy anyway? The only Dr. Z I know is the one who advertises on NYC Subways- his miracle skin treatments and chemical peels.

All other Dr. Z's have no credibility....

Bamm! A fellow commuter who knows all too well about Doctor Zizmor and his patients- most of whom looked the same at the end of the treatment.

You know it. It's definitely classic stuff. I live out in Illinois now, and I miss NYC commercials so much. Dr. Z. was always a favorite. Nothing better than crappy low-budget local ads.

If we didn't let Kareem McKenzie and Randy Thomas get away we'd have a great young line. Brick, Kendall, mangold, thomas, mckenzie

How much money did McKenzie want? and how much did Thomas get, those guys were overpaid.I am glad we didnt do that, we dont even have to go that far to see why we havent solved right Tackle, We passed on numerous Right Tackles in this years draft, Marcus McNeal, Winston Justice and O' Callahan are a few names that come to mind, but therer were plenty available. Same thing with Right guard, I thought we were going to take Jean Gilles, but oh well, there is always next year.

We still have two rookies, and they will need time to learn their responsibilities in the Running Game. I am not concerned right now.
