Joey Harrington will start for the Dolphins in Week 6. "Joey is going to continue to play quarterback," Saban said Monday. The coach emphasized the long-range relationship the team has with Culpepper and that they will keep working to improve his explosiveness before he plays again. It's a week-to-week decision, but we'd be surprised if Culpepper plays before a Week 8 bye. We'd drop him in most leagues. http://www.rotoworld.com/
I don't think it matters who is QB, this is not going to be an easy win. The Dolphins are trying to scratch and claw out a victory, too. If our D plays better and we do not make as many mistakes as we have been, and get some kind of running game going we will do good. This is by no means an automatic W.
I watched a bit of the Miami game yesterday. Harrington looked good when I was watching but it looks like from the box score he has not forgotten how to self destruct. The keys to the jets winning is not beating ourselves. Harrington is more than capable of doing a Losman and giving us a win. Remember Buffalo dominated us, outgaining us almost two to one and Mcgahee ran up and down on us at will but we still won because Buffalo beat themselves. Miami is entirely capable of doiing anything Bufalo can do and doing it better. At least in terms of self destruction. POur big advanatge on Miami is Pennington knows how to win. Smart QB play by Pennington and letting Harrington be Harringtoin should be enough for us to win. This is really a key game with Cleveland and Detroit comig up. We could play some very bad football the next three weeks and end up 5-3 or 4-4. Given the shedule this year where we play 11 games against pushovers where we will most likley be favored or even, its almost impossible for this team not to win 8-10 games if Pennington stays healthy. But we need to beat Miami.
Next week is huge. We play miami at home, where the jets are 7-1 in the last 8 games at home vs miami. A win for the jets gets things back in order and ends miami's season
Getting back to .500 this week is huge. This game is a must-win for playoffs in 2006. To early to be talking playoffs you say? Well looking at our schedule, we HAVE to win all the "easy" games. If we drop any of the "easy" ones we won't get in, meaning the following: Miami (twice), Detriot, Cleveland, Houston, GB, Buffalo, & Oakland. After watching this team, it looks like the 06 Jets are the type of team that can put away the "easy" ones and hang tough against the "better" teams. Win the "easy" ones and we have 10 wins. Pull of atleast 1 upset against one of the "better" teams and we are pretty much guaranteed a playoff spot with 11 wins. 10 wins, which was proved last year in the AFC (ex. chiefs) may not be enough. I strongly believe this team will win all those "easy" games to get 10 wins. Out of the "better" teams we have: Chicago, NE, & Minn. Chicago, yeah, throw that one out the window. NE is beatable, and Minn is definitely beatable. 11 (maybe 12) wins is a great possibility if the jets just put away the "easy" teams and pull off an upset or two against Minn and NE.
After a 41-0 thrashing. This is an understatement. At least Pennington is still standing upright. We couldn't say that leaving Jax-ville last year.
11-12 wins may be far fetched, however 10 wins is very possible. The 8 crappy teams we play are all very winnable (as long as we dont play like we did sunday) and Minnesota isnt a great team. This game on sunday vs miami may be the most important one because we need to bounce back from sunday. Once we get to 3-3 we can set our sights on 5-3 at the bye.
And a shitty qb They havent scored more than 20 points in any game this season. I still expect a close game
Rob, put the crack pipe down.....11 wins? lolololol......Ill say this one last time.....our defense is one of the worst in the entire NFL.......how in Gods name can we possibly win 11 games?????? we're goin 9-2 from here on out? ludicrous statement....you should be banned for 3 days for actually posting that
Why? Because we have already proven we can put away the "easy" teams and I believe we will continue to do that, along with get 1 upset.
Have you looked at the rest of our schedule. We are playing a once in a lifetime easy schedule. We have the good fortune to play 4 games against the worst division in the NFC and 4 against the worst division in the AFC and 2 against the raiders and Browns. Plus 4 games against the Bill and Phins. It will never get any easier than this. We have 9 games against teams we should eutehr favored or even against. 9 beatable teams. We have 2 hard games left Chicago and New England. Miami or Minnesota is the hardest team of the nine. Give our schedule to any team in the league and they immediately become playof contenders. There is no way this team should not win 8-10 games this year if Chad stays healthy.
