im 28 years old, I've been a huge jets fan my whole life…my dad has had season tickets since the early 80's and i have been going since 1993. however..i would never ever give up on the only team i love, i don't have any interests in any other sports. but it would be nice if woody sold the team, move them to LA and my pain could be spared i would be able to enjoy fantasy football, i can't now because i don't like rooting for non jets i would place some bets on game, i don't now because i don't want other teams to win i would use a good team when i play madden, i don't now because i use the pathetic jets i would enjoy watching the success of players like andrew luck, AJ green, jj watt, marcel darious, von miller and not have any bad feeling about it since i won't have a team to root for..i can't do that because i have garbage to watch. i would simply just watch football games and not root for anyone and enjoy great players, i cannot not do this because our jets have the most unexciting players I've ever seen….for years i see no good in the future for this team. please woody spare us all and get rid of this awful franchise so when the day comes and i have kids i won't have to show them this garbage
Move the team to Los Angeles? Enjoy fantasy football? You're a boob. This team doesn't need 'fans' like you. Go play your fantasy football.
Some of us couldn't care less if the team moved. They're already half way across the country anyway. Also, you could literally enjoy all of those things you mentioned. Stop being a pansy. Bet against the Jets. It's a win/win. Play fantasy football and draft Gronk, Brady, Patriots defense, etc. It's a win/win.
Just stop supporting them, especially financially. I once had tickets. Did it for 30 years. The new stadium the Giants had built for just half the cost to them is what did me in. I gave the stadium a shot but it`s a piece of junk and there aren`t 82,000 Jets fans in this area willing to sell that craphole out every game. Simply walk away from them. It`s not as hard as I thought it would be. I no longer have any anger after losses. I have saved thousands of dollars that I now spend on much more important things life throws at me. I laugh at the team now instead of crying or breaking remotes, beer glasses, shot glasses, fingers/wrists, etc... I didn`t think I would ever be able to simply walk away from the Jets, but I did and it is certainly for the better. It`s just a game. Means absolutely nothing to most people who roam this planet. Remember that. You get NOTHING when your team wins. NOTHING!!!! Well, ticket price increases, parking cost increases, concession increases. NOTHING is what the fan gets.
Haha, that's pretty much how I feel right now too man! ...but as you know all too well, once that toxic green slime gets in your blood, you're a Jets fan for life, like it or not! So, my question to you is this: even if they move to LA and change their name to the LA Butt Monkeys, and sport new unis, would that be enough, or would we still have some residual green fungus in us that would still link us forever to this miserable franchise that continues to torture us year after year? "Bruce Almighty" movie
I'd still support them if they move to LA, or whatever.. Fuck that noise. It's my team, embarrassing or not, good or bad, I made a commitment when I was 4. My first ever hat was a Jets hat. And when we win (good god I hope we win in my lifetime), it will be THAT much sweeter and THAT much more enjoyable.... And i'll be the first one on the bandwagon pushing clowns like you off...
Well a move to LA is a super long shot. Not to mention a massive blow to the loyal local NY Jet fans. I of course would immediately attempt to get season tickets. But first LA needs to come up with a stadium, second, the Lord and Commissioner needs to approve the change, and then the league owners need to vote accordingly. One huge side benefit might be the massive improvement in sports media, and assholes like Mehta would have to become beat writers for the Giants or continue to blow the Pats.
They aren't going to move a team that isn't even close to having finished paying off its stadium. They've also invested absurd amounts of money into the Jets' facilities near the stadium - like it or not, the Jets are here to stay in New York. You don't have to root for them if you don't want to. If it does not bring you happiness, stop watching, and stop taking it so seriously. Once you realize it's going to be a shitty season you have to throttle down your expectations and not care so much.
My wish is that since we blew the Mariota sweepstakes, we win out the rest of the season. It's what we do best, win meaningless games. Lets start by beating : Go JETS!!!!!
