Yes it is! The last 6 years Rex HAS been here. Idzik has been here only 2 years. Do you really think it is a coincidence that the jets with Rex coaching drafted defense in the 1st round the last 6 years? Rex's love for defense players every year on draft day is a major factor WHY the jets have no talent on offense. As to the back- to- back AFC champ games, the jets would have never made the PLAYOFFS in 2009 if Colts coach Caldwell hadn't pulled Manning at halftime with the Colts ahead in the final game of the year. Rex has had only 1 year where he made the playoffs without help and that is 2010. And any good coach should be improving his team/record-- We have significantly regressed under Rex since 2010. I have nothing personal against Rex, but damn it it is time for a change! I'm tired of his speeches/promises and talking up of rotten players like Garrett McIntyre, Clyde Gates, and Dexter McDougle, and then watching the jets struggle year after year. Coaches like Bellichek and Fox let their players do the talking on he field.

If Rex does get fired here I could see him a candidate for the Bears job if they fire Marc Trestman. A dream job for Rex since Buddy was such a big shot with the Bears for years. Right now the Bears are losing again to the Packers and aren't looking too good. Under Trestman they were 8-8 in 2013 (like the Jets under Rex) but this year only 3 Ws. So if they lose they will only be one game up on us and one of those wins was against the Jets. There's restlessness in the Bears locker room and signs that the inmates might be running the asylum. Plus Trestman like Idzik is a monotonous speaker who never says anything outside of cliches. I'm sure as the team keeps losing the Chicago press will eat him alive.

Nonsense. Parity rules the day in the NFL. The NFL is a league of one score games. Good teams win close games and bad teams lose close games.

It's cool that they play hard for him . . . but he's supposed to be more than just a motivational speaker. (i.e. They better fucking play hard for him!!!!). He's supposed to maximize their potential and minimize their blunders.

The problem with you Rex fanboys is that it's all about the team's abysmal talent when the team loses and all about Rex's unprecedented motivational prowess when the Jets win.

At the end of the day, the guy has 2 winning seasons (his first two) out of 6 as head coach, is 44-46 overall, and will have missed the playoffs for four straight seasons (all 8-8 or worse) following this one. Why are you guys so hellbent on portraying Rex as some special coach that we are in danger of letting get away?

I know it sounds crazy but I think the utter humiliation of a plane flying over your practice mocking you for a half hour then turning into a national story, played a huge role.

This team has been quitting on Rex all season. Today was an outstanding effort and excellent day all around though.

No good talented teams wins football teams. Don't believe me look at Denver,Green Bay, New England,Dallas,Arizona,, Seattle. The teams with no talent Jacksonville, Washington, OaklaBayTennessee, Tampa Bay. This league is all about talent.

He acted like an asshole. And maybe that is just ANOTHER reason we don't get a break from officials.

Talent and coaching work hand in hand.

There is no way around the fact that this Jets team hasn't been well-coached this year.

No, he referenced you specifically. You're the one who has chosen to project his faith onto his avatar while simultaneously making a mockery of your positions. Don't drag the generally religious crowed into this when the comment was aimed squarely at you bud.

You may be on to something...It's 42-0 Packers over Bears as I type this.

Nope. No preacher. Just not ashamed of my Savior Jesus Christ.

As for my actual comment- Just stating the truth. If you think this team has been "playing hard for Rex" all season then keep rooting for this phenomenal regime. Lol

I think Chicago would be a great fit for Rex. He could fix that locker room cause right now it's mayhem.

Rex completely out-coached Tomlin this game. As bad as he might deserve to go for our current record, he's probably a top 10-12 head coach in the league.. Especially if we have pieces in place and our QB's don't turn it over 3 or 4 times a game.
Like someone said earlier "If only Idzik spent money" we could've been competing this year..that said we're flexible for next year and we'll have top pick. If we stay with the same rebuild and see it through we might like our final product. If we clean house and bring in a new staff s0 be it but they better be impressive hires..

Team has lost a bunch of games by double digits in the past couple of seasons. A lot by 20 or more. I do not want to hear about how hard they play for Rex.

One of the jobs of a head coach is to instill a certain amount of fear in his players over their livelihoods when they're not playing well. Some guys can do this without the fear, like Dick Vermeil, but they bench under-performing players anyway - just absent the fear. Rex doesn't need a mean streak but he needs to hold players accountable for their performance. It's the only way to raise that performance level for most guys when it's lacking at the moment.

Don't count the Jets out, guys. If you do. . . you do so at your "own peril."

    Rex, you're 2-8. And you're still a clown.

Nice win. Did they really "play hard" though? I saw some players overachieving for their jobs and some others showing inconsistency. Overall it was an average effort similar to what we saw in the 8 losses. The difference was that for the first time all year the other team gave the ball away. This team was overdue for a game in which the opponent made mistakes to give them a win.

I want to see them come out of the bye week vacation and fight hard on the road in chilly Buffalo before I say they are "playing hard" for Rex.

They only have to play hard or show potential the last four games to start next year.
