Saunders was brought in to replace Kerley cheap. We know how he worked out. Hence the contract for Kerley now.
If Harvin actually becomes an impact player this year and seems to be okay in the locker room, I think I'd be fine with these 3. Under this circumstance I would like to see an inexpensive vet added to the mix for quality depth and let Salas, Shaq Evans and Enunwa play for a spot(s)
yes but if i understood right we would have saved cap space had we resigned him next year he is a player without market imo.
Jalen Saunders pick was a bust the day it happened. You want an impact special teamer you can find one on the waiver wire (Marvin Powell says hello).
I don't even understand why you would think that. I'm assuming his salary for this year stays unchanged. It's an EXTENSION, as in, tacked on to the end of his current contract. And Kerley absolutely has a market. That's foolish, come on.
Oh ok then its cool if it doesnt impact this years cap and imo kerley is more valuable to us then elsewhere teams dont need a small guy who runs 4.5 40 , thats what outsiders teams see lol.
Why are people associating Kerley and Harvin as interchangeable? They both have very different styles of play and are 2 very different WRs.
He's rarely open because for almost all of last year and for a few games this year, he was the best player on the field. He should never be more than a third option, and now he is. And a solid one at that. Agreed. Don't understand why we would jettison Kerley just because Harvin is here.
I've seen him catch the game tying TD in Green Bay and another score changer in New England called back by an ugly time out and a penalty. He also had a TD against Chicago. I don't think it's all his fault his receptions are down - poor QB play and relying on the likes of David Nelson to draw attention from you will hurt ones numbers
Same. Decker-Cooper/White-Harvin-Kerley would be an awesome top 4. Along with Amaro at TE, and Ivory/CJ as the RB's. If they can also improve the o-line a bit, then Geno would honestly have no excuses to not succeed.
Kerley's a good player. Glad he's in. Now, I would hope, hope, that Evans and Enunwa leave Salas in the dust next year. For starters, as far as the WR Corps go. Enunwa has the potential to be that big athletic guy to go up and make big plays in the air.
Meh. I guess. Hes been rarely open his whole fuckin career though. Hes pretty slow. hes pretty small. Hes a giant MEH. And for those ssying he would have demanded something decent on the open market, Kerley sure didn't hink so apparently
So players who sign extensions don't think they can get money elsewhere? Not quite sure I agree with that logic. I agree with you that he's nothing special. But find me a 3rd receiver that blows your mind. He's solid, and that's about it.
Dennis Waszak Jr.@DWAZ73 2m2 minutes ago #Jets announce they have signed WR Jeremy Kerley to a 4-year contract extension.
Just goes to show you guys don't know what the jets are doing. I thought the whole harvin is here so kerley is gone argument was dumb.
