Seeing as how our GM is inept at picking WRs I want a to 5 pick so he has to take Cooper. Although I'm not so sure he doesn't go 1 to Oakland.
That will be their question answer. You normally would let the RB walk, but if he keeps playing the way he is, it will be extremely hard to let him go.
I agree. Even if we draft a Mariota or Winston, I can't see them doing any better with our current offensive system in place.
The Cowboys will let Murray walk and sign Adrian Peterson for close to league minimum (who will immediately challenge for a 2,000 yd season behind that offensive line).
when it comes to Murray and Bryant, the cowboys need to lock up one player so that they can just tag the other. if either hits FA, thats our cue to strike. agreed. even rookie QB's need support, we should be building this team from the line out come the offseason. I'm hoping for a LT in round one.
Just as long as he gets better and shows progress. He needs to show everybody that he can be a starter. I believe in him.
I could care less about our draft position. This team needs to win some games regardless of how few that may be. Plus why should I feel better about a higher draft position given Idzik's draft record?
The team has become less talented since he got here; which is really saying something since we weren't talented when he got here. I defended him until this offseason when all he did was preach "competition" at all positions and then summarily anointed Geno the starter at QB without throwing a pass in practice. All talk, no substance so far.
It seriously doesn't matter where we pick, there generally will be a quality player to take at most positions no matter where we chose. We picked a safety last year at 18, but we could have picked a WR (Brandin Cooks, Kelvin Benjamin), CB (Darqueze Dennard, Jason Verrett, Bradley Roby), OLB (Dee Ford), or QB (Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater). Personally I felt that before the draft, the only player from that list I would have taken over Pryor was Dennard, and I rated Bridgewater higher but wouldn't have taken him. The point is that these are all high quality prospects at positions we could use a little help in, all available at 18. We will probably draft higher than 18 this year, and there will be prospects at almost every position available.
I know right he's so inept that he drafted a guy that is 4th in receptions for rookies in the league right now. So inept.
He's also 4th in the league (the entire league, not just rookies) in drops. Hooray! That's what happens when your team is untalented; somebody has to play.
http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2014/ Go look at the list of the guys with 3 or more drops this year, and you want to know the common theme. 90% of them are really fucking good. Dez Bryant, Demarius Thomas, Gronk, Roddy White, Calvin Johnson, Vincent Jackson. Tell me you wouldn't want any of those guys on the Jets, because if you say no your full of shit.
With the exception of Calvin Johnson, they all have significantly more passes thrown to them than Amaro - do you think that might explain why they are great players yet have a similar number of drops? However, when I look at the list of people that have dropped more than 10% of the passes thrown to them, it's approximately 50 nobodies (including Amaro) and Victor Cruz and Vernon Davis. Meanwhile, Bryant, Thomas, Gronk, White, Johnson and Jackson are nowhere to be found.
This team has too many holes to win more than half of the remaining games. While the team appeared to show improvement this week it has more to do with motivation than development. Each time we play the Patriots, our guys see it as the Superbowl. We hate them more than anything and nothing will fire this team up more than a shot at Tom Brady. Just like every time we have played the Patriots in the past few years, we will have a letdown next week. You can blame the refs or bad luck but the team we saw this week played as well as they are capable of playing. I won't complain if we take a stud at the QB position but we might be better off in the long run to play it safe and pick the LT or #1 WR / RB / CB that falls to us. We will have a top 8 pick and it is more important that the front office makes a good decision than whether we pick at # 3 or # 8. Aaron Glenn, Shaun Ellis, and John Abraham were all taken in the 8-13 range.
Who said anything about tanking? They're bad enough that they'll lose regardless of tanking. Also, this franchise needs to start fresh. This Rex Ryan losing era is unacceptable. Rex MUST GO.
