Exactly.... years ago many people including myself wanted to lose so we could draft Reggie Bush. We won costing us the #1 or #2 pick. Instead of Bush we got Brick and Mangold. I'd say that worked out pretty well for us considering they made how many pro bowls?
But Amaro was helllllddddddd! Can't wait for the "Refs fucked us" threads tomorrow. We got the bulk of the calls tonite. By a wide margin. _
Another year of Rex is fine. Another year of watching mediocre QB play is not, because Rex is going to get fired at the end of that year anyway. If the Jets are keeping Rex they need to give him a real QB next year. And that doesn't mean a hopey-wishey rookie. It means finding him a Brad Johnson because he can't win games any more with the QB's the Jets have given him recently. The veteran talent base in 09 and 10 was the reason he and the Jets got away with playing Mark Sanchez. The only way the Jets are going to over-achieve for Rex is if the QB is part of the solution not part of the problem.
let 'em coach the season. Short of a miracle he's gone anyway, but theres no real reason to wipe the slate clean NOW, if anything its just MORE demoralizing for the team as a whole. theres so many picks that are good who were attained outside the 1st overall pick. we got one of the best players in last years draft at number 13. we don't need to be NUMBER ONE to get a good impact player. tanking or hoping for a tanked season is a fools errand, a pointless exercise from a bunch of miserable fans.
Jesus! You jets fans. Started following the jets because of Geno. He's a young qb with some talent and inconsistent play. Would you expect anything else from a player coming up with the jets? Everything about this franchise is below average. Be pissed about the state of the jets, but how can you pin anything on one person with this team?Pretty much everyone involved contributes to the mediocrity.
We played them close, everyone fought hard. This isn't a good team - "outgunned" probably is the right word most weeks, especially with this schedule. Maybe a couple of the depth pickups we'll make this year will be able to prove themselves as NFL players, maybe we'll get a high draft pick. It's hard to get too mad (even in a close Jets/Patriots game) when we're obviously playing the long game and we obviously don't have the horses.
Weird because you were panning Teddy and Carr and all the other QBs in this draft because you were such a Geno fan. By next year we could have been in year 2 of any of those guys. But you thought they all sucked and Geno was the man. Now Geno's NOT the man? Weird. _
This is the first decent game they've played all year. But there is no where to go with the current staff. This may be where Geno turns it around.
The irony.... Chris Jones gets called for last second penalty to give folk a rekick/ Jets win last year. Chris Jones blocks last second Folk field goal this year.
Ehh I'm actually not that upset about it. 3 weeks ago I woulda but at this point this team isn't going anywhere anyway. This was just an entertaining way to get closer to a much needed regime change and high draft pick. And the QB didn't shit all over himself. Which was nice
I got into the game still. I'll admit I laughed when our QB tossed it back to our backup QB who held the ball too long and got decked. That was a fun play to watch self-destruct.
Where are those guys again? I thought they might have fell head over heels for this team and stayed around.
