Jaguars | Stroud doubtful for Week 5 Wed, 4 Oct 2006 10:20:53 -0700 Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said DT Marcus Stroud (ankle/groin) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 4, and is listed as doubtful for Week 5. "We just don't know if he's going to be able to be effective enough to help us on Sunday," Del Rio said of Stroud. "He's a proud guy and I know he'll fight to try and get there. We'll just make a decision on what's best." I feel this is the perfect opportuinity to come out running the ball the same way the Colts did to us. Everyone expects Chad to carry this offense by himself primarily with the pass. With Stroud out, their primary run stuffer, the timing is ideal. WE're coming off a game where our running game was established a bit and this allows us to keep the opposing offenses off the field so that our insanely pourous defense doesn't set us back. We can definitely win this game, and I honestly feel we will. If there is something I noticed with Mangini's Jets, it's that they're not coming out making the same mistakes week after week. This could be the game where our defense can finally make a stand. The Jags don't run the ball well either. Our pass defense is nothing to brag about but they can make plays. We've got to win this one. With Miami, Detroit and Cleveland coming up we can definitely be 6-2 at the bye. Let's also hope that all the cries to implement a little 4-3 doesn't fall on deaf ears. I hope Mangini hears us... Peace Fellas
this team is incapable of going 4-0, even if they beat jax their will be a let down game somewhere in the next 3
I've been trying to put into words how I feel about our team. I mean I feel better than I've felt in a long time (circa 1998). And your post hit the nail on the head for me. For once, the Jets WILL NOT have a let down game, or an "over cocky" game, or a flat game. I almost don't recognize the team. That seems to be the BIG difference that I see in this team. Mangini has imposed his WILL on this team. They run when he tells them to run. They fight when he tells them to fight. They believe when he tells them to believe. I can honestly say I have never seen this in the Jets before. Yes, it's only the 1st 4 games of Manginis regiem, but I like it. Pass the tissues.
Very true. Same feelings. I look at the name "Jets" and i say no way can we play a season w/o having a flat game. And then i watch those guys who come out in their Green and White uniforms and watch them go hard each and every play, and i can't imagine them getting over cocky
You didn't hear that the league has sent us a letter informing us that we've already won those games?
Whats that beast Mattman has in his sig? I see us dropping 1 at least in the next 4. If we beat Jax we may be surprised by the quiet lions or mabey the phins will be looking desperately for their first win, i also see that there could be an upset in cleveland. We will probably lose one of these games and for a rebuilding team i would be very happy to see us at 5-3
NO WE MUST BEAT THE PHINS!!! We already lost to the Pats.....Gotta win those division games....plus if we dont beat the phins i'll never hear the end of it......:finssuck:
I have to say I watch this team and I see the offensive line constantly moving into new formations, something I have not see in a long long time. I see a team not settling for a tie and hope for the best in overtime. I see a team in great shape and true desire to WIN. If you would have told me there was a SLIGHT chance the JETS could be 5-3 at the bye I would have laughed. But now it just may happen. YES im very happy so far.
