Despite Geno and our defense sucking, MM has managed to keep us in games with pretty good play calling. The trickery is odd, but I guess when you lack talent, you try other things.
Will the buck ever stop with Rex? I don't know about MM, but he did handpick Sporano. Defensive genius or not, Rex should be involved in game planning on both sides of the ball, and should be vocal during the game about what he wants run. You ever see those Parcells sideline vids reaming BB, Groh, or Weiss a new one when things weren't done the way he wanted them? That's called being the Head Coach!
Give me a fuckin break. Why can't we just lose games and make adjustments. Why does everything need to be about firing coaches? MM is an excellent OC. Has he made some dumbass choices? Yeah. But so has every coach out there. It's a matter of learning from your mistakes and moving forward. MM is running an offense that is ranked 8th in the league. We average more yards a game than 24 other teams. We are averaging 2 tds a game. Our red zone offense is fuckin terrible but a lot of that falls on Geno. Let's say Geno doesn't make the dumbass mistakes he's made in the redzone and we are 3-0 right now, like we should be. Remove the bullshit calls by the refs and Geno's bone head decisions, and we are 3-0. Would you all still want MM gone? Because that's what it's come down to. We didn't lose these games because of MM. We lost because of blown calls and costly turnovers. Not the offensive play calling.
This is what the Rex enthusiasts don't seem to understand. You don't get to absolve yourself of responsibility for the performance of half of the fucking team. You are the head coach. By definition, you are responsible for every player you put on the field.
I can't imagine how hard it is to call a good game when you know your QB is going to shit himself at the first sign of trouble.
We need continuity. Changing coaches every other year will not get us anywhere. Our cap space says we're a rebuilding team. Be patient!
Get a real QB first before bitching about MM. Geno almost certainly ain't that. Right. I didn't like that pick in particular, and it looks more and more like it will remain a bad pick. I really hope he proves me wrong. So far, he has failed to do so.
MM has our offense performing better than it has since Brett Favre. Only a complete moron would blame him for bad ref calls and Geno's red zone failures.
MM is a great OC until we get into the RZ it if we're ever behind. If we're behind by 3 points he decides to open up the passing "attack"
The problem is Jets front office implemented a passing playbook, but, they don't have the pieces for it. Geno isn't ready for it, we don't have the receivers for it (specifically lengthy WR's), and we don't have a strong enough O-Line. I can't even really blame Marty, he was brought in here to put a shotgun formation at 3rd and inches at the goalline. Marty is just filling his quota, regardless if his playcalls are idiotic.
As bad as Marty's been the last two weeks, he was that good last year. And honestly you're not getting much better in terms of OC unless Norv walks through that door, and he's currently employed.
Pass that bong this way son. Rex is not even a mediocre HC. 2010 is so 4 years ago. How is he doing with the team he helped to create, thought so.
Cool our GM sucks, because he didn't get DJAX? How did you come to this conclusion, considering the fact that he's been on the job for less than two years? Jets fan logic is just preposterous, damn.
