For my Pack to win. 1. First and foremost we need to shut down CJ and Ivory. We need to hold the Jets to at least 90 yards on the ground total between the two and not give up any more then that in order to win. 2. Our O line needs to have a much better performance then in the Seattle game. If Rodgers is only sacked twice and hit once that would be huge for us. 3. We need to go after the Jets secondary. I know you guys have lost a lot in the secondary the last few years so we need to exploit your secondary. 4. We need to get at least 100 yards rushing on the ground but against your D line that is going to be very tough. 5. Peppers and Matthews need to wreak havoc on Geno Smith and make him look pedestrian out there. For the Jets to win. 1. If you guys run all over us for 150 yards rushing or more then we might be in trouble as you would win TOP and keep Rodgers off the field. 2. Rodgers getting pressured and sacked all day. 3. If your secondary takes Nelson out of the game then all we have is Cobb and Boykin. We might have trouble moving the sticks. 4. Jets need to score touchdowns when they get in the red zone and not field goals. 5. If you guys win the field position battle that would be huge as well. Make us start at our own 20 or less every time and if the Jets start at their own 35 or more. Good luck this week guys but not too much luck! Here is to a great game!
Well written post and fair analysis. It sounds like Packers are not taking Jets lightly and I believe most posters here feel likewise.
Very well written summation and I have to agree on both views. Anyone know if Baluga(sp) is playing?? I heard he was questionable. He is key missing piece.
I always hate this game. The Packers were the first team I liked and they are my second favorite team, but the Jets won my heart with Joe Willie Namath in 1964. I hate for either team to have to lose. It should be a good game.
If Bulaga is playing, he'll be doing it on a bum knee and might struggle a bit. I'd have to imagine that his MCL sprain will limit his dexterity or ability to put full pressure on that knee. Whether it's a hurt Bulaga or a healthy Sherrod, I think Rex will focus in on that right tackle spot. The Jets are going to have a ton of trouble dealing with Rodgers, but if they can keep him under constant pressure, make the most of their red zone opportunities and not have turnovers on offense - then the Jets have some chance of pulling off the upset.
I do remember the Jets beating us in lambeau in the season opener one year. Maybe about 15 years ago. Curtis Martin ran all over us and Favre threw a game ending int to lose us the game. Ouch that one hurt.
This should be a great game. If I weren't a Jets fan, I prob would be a Packers fan to be honest. To me this game comes down to the turnover game, if Geno Smith and the Jets turn the football over Rodgers will make us play and we'll lose the game for certain. If we win the TO battle and can run the football the game will belong to the Jets.
For [Your] Pack to win. 1. Not going to happen 2. May happen 3. Will happen 4. Not going to happen 5. May happen For the Jets to win. 1. Will happen 2. May happen 3. Not going to happen 4. May happen 5. Not going to happen
I'll give Lacey a hard fought 50-70 yards. He's a bruiser going against a bruising D-Line. The 2013 Offensive Rookie of the Year going head to head with the 2013 Defensive Rookie of the Year. It's gong to be colossal.
the key to this game is simple: will Arod be able to exploit the Jets secondary. the jets can run for 200 yds and control ToP but if Arod is able to throw the ball it won't matter.
You hit the nail on the head right there...we can run all day and all night...if Rodgers can toss the ball at will then we are in deep trouble.
