I would like to say that having Decker out there on offense makes me finally feel that we have a rock as a offensive weapon to throw too... (THANK YOU IDZIK) He is not a 'All-World' physically built WR as many consider that as a #1 guy...But to me he is a #1 WR, because he excellent route running abilities and he definitely has great hands. Also, he has that moxie as a leader and most importantly is not a headcase. That toughness, and being able to break tackles and finding a way to be involved in most plays is like watching Super Saiyan Wayne Chrebet out there (yes dropping the Dragon Ball Z reference ) He always seems to be in the right place at the right time...I hope he has a great career with us and I hope he is a mainstay for many many years to come. Today in week 1... If not for a couple of terribly called penalties on Decker and Colon, he would probably have a 100 yard game. Thanks for coming to the Jets Eric...I also know my fiancé is happy you are a Jet too.
Decker was huge today, big fan. He had some great YAC, this guy is a stud and a huge addition to our receiving corp. Go Jets.
I thought he looked great. Could have had a TD as well on that weird Vick play and had a decent play (maybe 15-20 yards) that was called back due to a dumb flag from the refs.
But Mark Schlereth said he sucks... Decker was good for sure today, sticky fingers and he's not that quick but still gets the YAC.
No complaints from me. He's not flashy but he doesnt make mistakes either. His offensive PI call was a joke. I know he'll probably have some games where he goes off for 7 catches and 2 scores and maybe some other weeks where he only gets 2 catches. But if he can what he did today , 5 catches for 75 , every game and sprinkle in a TD every other game then thats fine with me.
He would have been at 6 catches for 95 yards if it wasn't for that garbage P.I. call hat the refs made to keep the raiders in the game. He also should have had a TD if Mike Vick was an accurate passer, which he really isn't. So glad he is on our team that's all I am going to say.
He looks good, and I'm more than glad he's aboard. He'll fulfill an important role in this ball club.
If that is what they are going to call as a offensive PI this season then look out for a ton of angry people. They also gave us the head ref having his first NFL officiating game of his career.
He performed well. It was about the way that I'd hoped he'd play. Are his number's any less significant because he's not a true #1?
Good game out of him. I thought he got screwed on that OPI call by the refs. Tough to tell though. Also if Vick throws a better ball he's got a TD. Could have easily had a 100 yard/ 1 TD game.
