me and my friend discussed this right after the game. on millers KR for a TD. should he have downed it inside the 20 so they could kill the clock on the way to a TD and not put the ball back in Peytons hands?

of course this is just another "what if" scenario. but one that makes alot of sense.

You just don't do that in football. You try to score when you can.

have you noticed that both miller KR TDs have been controversial.. last year he supposably cost us bush.. this year he left to much time on the clock lol.

but your asking a tired defense to get back on the field 30 seconds after they allowed a TD.

im not saying this is what shouldve happened im being hypothetical. if he downs it we couldve marched down the field and left little to no time left on the clock.

this is just a thread to see what people think im not saying we shouldve done it.

He could have downed it inside the 20, but who's to say that we would have scored?

No way. You take the points and hope your D can step up. You're up by 4, the D just needed to keep them out of the endzone and they couldn't do it.

ideally,,,,he was supposed to stand on the one yard line for two minutes before going in for a touchdown and the other Jets around him were just supposed to block the other Colts from coming in and tackling him...

Bottom line is that Leon Washington did put up his hand to tell Miller not to come out of the end zone.

Looking back at it now? Yeah...lol.

I actually thought about this, yesterday for a little bit. You just can't ask a guy that has just made a run like Miller did, to run out of bounds on the 15 or so. At that point all a person should have is tunnel-vision for the goal line. There are no guarantees in football. Even if Miller did run it OOB, it is not absolute that we would have scored.

Bottom line is our Defense must do a much better job against the run. Don't know to what degree that is possible this year, but I am certain it must have Mangini's attention.

    no...not at all.

you try and score in football when you can....you don't score there you might throw an int and lose the game right there....absolutely not.

You never pass on the points. You can't predict that we could've scored afterward....in essence you're only moving the pressure elsewhere, and thats not worth it.

All threads about Millers kickoff (running out of bounds at the 1, or this one) should just be deleted.
