http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/26/dee-milliner-im-the-best-cornerback-in-the-nfl/ Sure hope this comes true!
He's taking his cue from his Head Coach. Talk shit first, back it up later if you can. If you can't? Talk more shit.
He may or may not have said that because I need a Rosetta Stone program to understand what he is saying. http://www.newyorkjets.com/videos/v...-by-Jets/404b2a35-d4e9-434a-93b7-788b00ed6957
Eh, full quote, nothing concerning. All these guys are world class athletes and confident in their abilities
Its become the status quo nowadays. In the end who cares? I guarantee you the Jets players arent the only ones making these statements right now. Writers just love em more.
Just gotta shake your head at this one..at least his confidence is there. Confidence is HUGE for corners.
Interesting point is when we were a chirping team we went to back to back championship games and when we shyed away from that we didn't do as well. We need to develop a swagger for the team again.
Good Point. When we talked shit, we had the pressure to back it up and we almost did. MAYBE lightning will strike twice. Rex is already talking like the old Rex sans the SB predictions and now its becoming contagious. The funny thing about talking shit is, you better back it up or else it all becomes just noise and credibility goes out the window. It's a pretty short trip from sugar to shit.
When Rex came in he had a good team and a great defense and he told everyone it was the best team because it was his and to try to make the players believe it themselves. Consequences in the media be damned. Team went to shit, he ate a slice of humble pie and wasn't going to make waves after the tight lipped new GM came into the picture. Now he has a team with a chance again, and a young truly talented core defense which means more to him than anything else in the world. Old Rex is going to come back in that way and I'm fine with it. He is who he is, and I don't care what he does or doesn't say in public as long as he remains a defensive mastermind. There aren't many guys like that around and defense still wins championships come the dead of the winter. I still believe he can get the job done with the right roster and Idzik looks like he might be capable of supplying it soon. Milliner? Yeah that's some stupid shit to say, you know it's going to get blown out of context so why do it. He showed real potential towards the end of the season but he was completely atrocious for like 11 games. Maybe someday he develops into someone that can say that without sounding ridiculous, and I know where he's coming from, but now isn't the time for him to start chirping. Let Rex do the talking if he feels like it. Regardless though, it doesn't make any difference on the field. Milliner will be who he is when it counts so I don't really care what he says to some reporter either so long as he keeps improving.
this. Reporter probably asked him who he thinks the best corner in the league is or something like that lol... Who else he gonna say but himself? That's what any player would do.. Media just loves fucking with us it's annoying.
How about this: " One day, I HOPE to be the best CB in the NFL.." It comes across much better than that bullshit he just fed the media. He's not even the best CB in the AFCE yet..
Well it depends on the question, right? I don't know if there is a video of it or not. Maybe the question was "who is currently the best CB in the NFL?" Realistically he could have avoided giving the media something like that if he tried hard enough or gave a shit but maybe he doesn't. It's probably getting him some national attention and maybe he's fine with that.
**face palm** The best CB in the NFL doesn't show up to mini camps out of shape. Milliner has a long way to go
