all the favorites advanced, which is what I had for the bracket contests that started with the knockout round. I had Brazil and Netherlands in the final, though, and if I could change, I'd definitely change to Germany and maybe Argentina.
I had Brazil-Germany and Spain-Argentina semi finals in my ESPN predictor. I had Brazil and Spain advancing and Brazil winning the cup. But now, I think it will be Germany-Netherlands. Both Brazil and Argentina are underdogs against their European opponents. But I hope it will be a Brazil-Argentina epic final.

Brilliant move pulling out Cillessen. As if that wasn't enough to get in their heads, Krul standing up in their face talking shit to them before each shot was taking it one step further… put all the pressure on CR. Meanwhile he's not that good of a PK GK throughout his career anyway so really nothing to lose there. He stopped more PK shots last night then he did in his entire EPL career. Brilliant management.
They were saying he must've shown something in private because I think they said Krul was 2 of 20 saving PKs in the EPL. It was a curveball.
Krul stood waiting until the last moment before he went, unlike most goalies that tries to guess where the ball will go. It might not work in the league, where designated penalty takers can drill the balls in the corner, but in the nerve-wrecking environment of a World Cup playoffs it was effective.
