Trade Vick to the Cleveland Browns. I`m sure the Dog Pound there would love it. He can be forced to do the Lambaeu Leap every time he throws an INT or fumbles the ball away. Screw Vick. I don`t care about him, his thug posse, his past life, his upbringing or his mother for that matter. Shit, I don`t even care about his dogs he murdered. None of it changes my life.
There are a few things in life that really upset me, and he's done one of them, animal cruelty. I really don't care if its a result of his upbringing or anything else in that bracket. I will never ever forgive or forget anyone who does this crap. If anyone seriously buys that he's learned his lesson, then you're easily conned. The only lesson he learned was he was sloppy and got caught. The guy defines psychopath. But he's done his time and 'justice' has been determined and served. Time to move on...but you don't have to forget .
Some meat you get from your supermarket and restaurants are kill the same way or even worse. Why the double standard?
What a strange thing to say. I don't really have an opinion on the guy on a personal level but I would be hard pressed to find a thread entitled "How can you like this guy?" about anyone else on the team.
Plenty of people grow up in a "culture" where various criminal activities are deemed acceptable and don't get involved in it. Plenty of middle and upper class kids deal drugs and kill people driving drunk. It's a character issue and it will always be a character issue.
Yes but that doesn't mean people can't learn from the mistakes of their youth and change. A character issue isn't always a character issue if a person matures and makes personal changes.
You're absolutely right. I just don't think Vick ever did. He certainly paid $111k to a PR firm to rehab his public image though.
Idk, it seems to me like he's a quite a different guy all in all than the guy we saw in Atlanta, pre-prison.. not just the dog-fighting ring stuff either, he was cocky, reckless, late or just plain not showing up for scheduled charitable events, etc. Now, he seems humbled overall and I appreciated the way he has owned up to his past, publicly. He's not pulling those stunts with charitable endeavors anymore either, as far as I know. When Riley Cooper made those stupid comments last year, instead of being hypocritical he simply said he's the last guy that should judge others for mistakes and that he forgives him. That took some character to say and doesn't come from a PR firm. The old, douchebag version of Vick wouldn't have done that. That held the locker room together too. Theres other stuff too about how he's changed and he's certainly changed the minds of many associated in the league. I'm not as cynical as you, but I suppose maybe it's coming from PR work. Idk, I guess I don't know anything about how he is really like off the field but I like to think it's not just that, I'm not going to be as cynical about it. Either way though, he's just the QB of a football team. You can think he's the biggest P.O.S. in the world but still root for your team to win. I think there is a real problem in this society with people expecting their sports figures to be moral figures as well (maybe you aren't that way, this is a general statement). To me it's just another occupation, and like all occupations there are people that real assholes and people that aren't.
That would be too much to ask wouldn't it? Multi millionaires behaving with poise and grace. I thought you were doing so well up until that point....opinions, we all have 'em
There no expectation out there of our multi-millionaires outside of sports to behave with poise and grace, why should sports be any different.
If you're looking for poise and grace out of multi-millionaire professional athletes, well, to quote the Dread Pirate Roberts "Get used to disappointment". _
lmao... omg. here we go with the dog stories again. I havent heard about that shit in SOOOOOO long until he came to the jets . Leave it to our fanbase to be petty and hold some shit against Mike thats working on being a decade old now. That man did his time came back ballin and now he might possibly be our starter this year. Shame on you haters. Im sure your dog wont be too upset if yall show vick some love
do you really now? Vick is one of the most popular players in VA Tech history among hokie fans. Most of us live in the dirty south, we don't give a fuck that he doesn't sound like an English gentleman.
Opening day: We have our own little microcosm here at TGG and many have shared their opinion of Michael Vick. But how will our home crowd react when he's first announced and runs onto the field? Do you think it will be bad or just die out after a few scattered booos? Will anyone sneak sings in? Organize anti-vick chants? Will anyone protest outside the stadium? Who cares to guess?
Outside of maybe a few random crazies I doubt there will be anything of substance. It will be interesting to see the crowd reaction when he takes the field - especially if he walks out as the starter...
