What about Vick vs Geno? That's arguably the biggest battle of camp

If the final WR roster spot comes down to Evans vs Enunwa I think the edge goes to Enunwa. The 5th or 6th WR has to play ST and that's where Enunwa could make his mark.

With the talent level so close I think this is where you find out who is willing to outwork everyone else and that is when you find gems.

The thing that's interesting is the Jets drafted about a half dozen guys who are known to be workaholics at their trade. The lights may never go out in the dorm at Cortland.

He wasn't including guys that have guaranteed roster spots. There are a lot of competitions that he didn't list for the starting positions, but these are the guys who could conceivably not be on the roster come late August.

A lot of the discussion earlier in this thread was about keeping/cutting some of the veterans to save some money. None of these veterans have such high salaries that they'd be cut to save money. The reason they would be cut is if the next player is about as good or better, then you're better off getting rid of the veteran with established ceiling and using the veterans roster spot for a younger player without the established ceiling who you might be able to groom into a good/great player one day.

Many battles for sure (QB,RB,WR,TE,OG,OLB,ILB?,CB,S,P) at more positions than not and a lot of talented young players at each position. Really looking forward to watching the 12 draft picks compete and seeing who emerges from these competitions.

I just want one of our 25 receivers to break out. I dont want decker and kerley at 1 and 2. I want them in their respectable position (2 & 3). We seen what happened when we were forced to move santonio from the 2 to 1. One of these guys have to be a stud i cant call who but if that tall kid with the blazing speed that jumps really high with the big nose can break out I'd be excited. Yes thats Stephen "my career is going down" Hill

I don't expect the vets in question to be cut, and even if they are it's not purely because of the cash. It's a combination of how deep our roster is getting, and like you said if some of the younger players are stepping up they could become replaceable. I think Landry is the most likely to go out of the 3 vets we've been talking about, because if Jarrett (a 2012 2nd round SS with a year on our defense already) shows something, that gives us a young 3 safety rotation. I think Jarrett has a solid shot at pushing the vet out, whereas the rookie OLB's and rookie OG have a much smaller chance of pushing the vets out.

Man, it is going to be a great training camp for sure. Looking forward to it! Also, I want to see how the draft choices play in pre-season. Love the competition. Players will be forged and some will emerge.

I agree all this competition is going to make training camp fun to watch. And the preseason games will be good as well! Looks like we're all gonna have to pay attention to the second half of these games to see how all our rookies look. Hell I might even go to a preseason game or even both. They force me to buy the fucking ticket and parking pass anyway, might as well go!
