The lack of pass rush is a problem but we have a secondary that fights for and gets it's share of balls. We give up a lot of yardage but hopefully can make a few game changing plays and our O gets off quickly. The Colts are not a great football team. They are scary, they can get up on you quick but they're not great. The Jets need to put points on the board early and often. Ball control is not the answer. Hang with them and make a couple of plays in the secondary.
I didn't think we had a chance to beat Buffalo so...... We need to get a lot of pressure on manning. We haven't really been able to do that yet.
Bottom line is 4 weeks ago while you were looking at the schedule, you're thinking no shot..well a month latter everyone is well they can't run, Mangini has defended Peyton well in NE..I am not the predicting type but I'm pretty stoked for sunday I gotta tell ya..I think of any professional sport in the NFL the Head Coach makes the biggest difference..obvious on the Jets I know..nice little blurb on Shotty in foxsports.
as much as i wanna believe. i cant help but realize we r up against a team that has dominated in the regular season forever. manning is insane and so r his recievers. reggie wayne is man on mission with what he's been goin thru. they got momentum but so do we. i'll tell u what tho. we have to score early and score big if we want this
I think any team has a chance....this is the NFL. But I won't go so far as to say I plan to wake up monday expecting us to lead the afc east. We do have a few things working for us to make me feel like we could win 1 of the next 2 games, but nothing is set in stone....
we have a great chance as long as the game is low scoring. An opportune fumble, int., punt/kick return could do it. If the game becomes a shootout, I do not think the Jets can hang with the Colts.
The key to the game is knock Peyton on his ass a couple of times, remember he is the same q-back that was handling the ball when we beat the crap out of the colts 41-0. Certainly we have a chance to win, a damn good chance.
yes, we can beat the COLTS! Stop the run and blitz MANNING and hit him as much as we can! he will fold his tent!
I think we got a shot, we are going to have to find a way to get Peyton pressured and then the fact that Indy's running game hasn't been to good will help us. I think our offense(the three C's: Chad, Coles, Cotchery) can stack up the points we need to win, it is going to be a matter of whether Vilma, Rhodes and our D-line can make things happen on the other side of the ball
anyteam can beat the colts, you just have to have the right gameplan... now you asked if the jets can beat the colts... hell yesss. 41-0 playoffs. (2002)
no brandon stokely and no bob sanders for the colts... id say we have a shot but chad will have to go shot for shot with peyton.
My theory is if the Colts lost a few more regular season games they may make it to the Superbowl...and I hope the Jets put it to the test tomorrow:smile: :jets:
The thing that makes me think we're in for a long Sunday is the fact that this team and CS, in their current state, seems to require a lot of adjustments to their gameplan to become effective enough to challenge for the W so far this year. No, the Colts aren't a well-rounded team, not even close. And they have many weaknesses to be exploited. But if we give up an early lead, which the Colts are famous for achieving in most of their wins, their lack of run defense becomes less of a weakness. And we have less-than-adequate coverage from our safeties so far this year, so I think giving up an early lead is quite a possibility for a team that gameplans their passing attacks as well as Indy.
