hello everyone.. this will be my last time on the forum until after the draft.. i wanted to post my thought and let everyone think this through… for years under rex we have seen a awful offense.. 2012 and 2013 were awful to watch…under rex we have totally neglected the offensive side of the ball during the draft. I understand we have a huge hole a CB, but think about this… with this roster on d that we have right now, on paper, do we not have a top 15 d?.. are we so spoiled with revis and cro that we go nuts for 2 shut down corners?rex has been spoiled with players on d and should be able to coach up with what he has… IMO we need to give geno or vick all the weapons they can have. we slipped on the weapons with sanchez and did not provide him the proper weapons to have a good offense…IMO i think we should use our premium picks this year on weapons for the qb.. i think with late round picks and the d we have already will add to the 8-8 season we made it through all last year with. just my thoughts.. ill be happy with a corner but i think we still need all the offense we can get. and please have a different opinion other then this is the greatest wr draft in history and we can get 6th round wf's yada yada….
Not sure, but I probably said it. Any reason why you're bringing it up now? I just searched that quote and all I could come up with was a review of Platoon.
If Idzik didn't make it a must pick for CB we wouldn't be pleading to improve the offense. He is pretty smart so I'am sure he will figure a way to improve both sides of the ball. Idzik is so careful with his moves it's to the verge of having an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder lol. The question is can he make a decision on the clock.
Actually the Jets have drafted the second highest amount of offensive players in the NFL for the past five or so years only second to the ravens.
BPA Take the best available. It`s just the draft and most, if not almost all, amount to nothing in the NFL. I say trade the #18 pick away and stockpile for the future. This current team is not going to win anything imo. JUST MY OPINION, so don`t have a shit fit douchebags. The draft is something to play with and with some lick(edited but lick if thats what Idziot wants to do), you find a gem. It doesn`t happen often so BPA or trade it away and stockpile with other picks or trades. Again, just my opinion.
Since 2009 only the Ravens have drafted more offensive players than the Jets. The Jets have drafted defense first, but you can't say they neglect the offense. Just isn't true.
im not complaining about the pick… but since 09 we have taken 2 skill position player before the 4th round
Where are those players now? 2009 - Sanchez, Greene, Slauson all gone 2010 - Ducasse, McKnight, Conner all gone 2011 - Powell, Kerley, McKnight McKnight is gone 2012 - Hill, Ganaway, Griffin, White only Hill is still here and for how long? 2013 - Smith, Winters, Oboushi, Campbell all here I think but too early to tell if any stick
Trying to give your offense top talent and relying on your good defensive coach to get the best out of lesser players is the best possible way to field 2 mediocre units and have a mediocre season. Of course it always depends on who is available but let's let Geno show us something more before we start buying him shiny new toys.
That's only true if you leave out the 09 draft, but McKnight and Powell were 4ths. So since Rex has been coach, that's really 4 early picks in skill positions and 6 if you include round 4, plus we traded a 4th for Ivory and a 4th for Tebow 2 other years so we are getting skill positions. That makes 8 total when you aren't as selective in which years and rounds to include.
Heres a thought going into the weekend. snacks douzable and k.ellis are all f.a.'s in 2015 Something to keep in mind as the picks come in Saturday
True but I wouldnt be surprised to see some dlineman picked up in rounds 6 and 7. Save a few $ over resigning atleast 1 of them
