So I'm on Facebook and I go to the ESPN page to see the new Monday Night Football schedule and the first comment I see is "How do the shitty Jets get TWO MNF games?" My wife, who is a die hard 49'er fan, then asks the obvious question...one. Wait, how can that be? Seattle...ONE! Washington and the Jets TWO?? Who's table did Woody and Snyder crawl under to have trouser snake fun to pull that off? LOL!!!
The Jets bring out the best and the worst in people..they should probably be on all 16 weeks, monday nights would set a new record.
MNF is 3rd on the totem pole of prime time games. It's not an honor to get MNF games, it's an honor to get SNF games.
I don't think it's an honor to get any of them, I consider it an inconvenience to make a team adjust their schedule because the NFL wants to cash in on the teams that they think will get better TV ratings.
Yeah...MNF is not what it used to be but still...surprised..and a real gutsy move with the Dolphins/Jets 12-1. Solid chance somebody in that game will not be close.
MNF just has to be the more beloved primetime game though. It's got it's own day, and it's a classic tradition. SNF is awesome too, but IDK why it's become the biggest jewel in the media world. You guys are saying that, and I heard em saying that on either the Eisen show, or ATL gang.
Looking at the MNF and TNF schedule it appears stronger. I think ESPN was pissed after last year, some of the match ups were unacceptable.
Come on boys. it's not about watching a great game, it's about getting the most people to watch any game. The Jets do that.
Not really the way it looks to me. I doubt many teams have fewer than 3 primetime games, and we don't have any Sunday nights, the best of the primetime slots.
Why do you think that? There isn't even any tradition to it yet, if anything it's a cheap imitation of MNF and an excuse to let NBC think they are still relevant.
Sunday Night Football has higher ratings, is available to public access, and has the marquee match ups for most weeks. Is this a troll question?
MNF stopped being special long before they moves it to ESPN and made SNF the marquee game. If it didn't it never would have left ABC.
Night games are the fucking worst, especially if it's close and we lose. I'm getting to old to only have 5hrs of sleep before work and pissed to shit.
I don't have a problem with the night games myself, I just wished they started earlier too so like you said people that have to work the next day aren't dragging off of 5hrs of sleep.
