Download the torrent file put up here every week of the Jets game and you'll be able to watch the Jets at your leisure.
I'm guessing you missed the part where I apologized to TBJ, and even admitted that I was out of line?
I've watched some Aussie football on torrents too, but I don't understand the game wll enough to evaluate a player's performance very well. If an American that was a sports star in the US (especially if it was an athlete I was a fan of) went down under and played some AFL ball, I'm pretty sure I'd like to read a detailed report on how he was doing. That's all I'm doing here too, for our mates from down under. In last year's reports, I included much more situational info, and explained more about the jargon and rules of American football. I've said before that I would really like to sit and watch an AFL game with someone who knew the rules and nuances of the game. I've visited sites in an attempt to learn, but there is no substitute for having someone who knows the game explain each play and possession. That is sort of what I'm trying to do here, and it's easier to do for a punter that is involved in a limited number of plays. Hey SydneyDon, glad to hear that the thread is getting so many reads on the Cats' message board! That's cool!
TBird and anyone interested, the Aussie rules Grand Final (our Superbowl equivalent) is on this Saturday afternoon between Sydney and the West Coast Eagles. You should be able to see it somewhere if you have a dish. It will probably start around 11-12 pm on Friday night your time. I watched the 1992 Grand Final from a small bar in Chicago. The place was only licenced till 1am but we made the owner lock the door and me and about 25 locals watched the game. They all got into it but we were all loaded which helped. I'll be at the game with 100,000 others.
check out nyfooty.com for details on watching the AFL GF in at Planet Hollywood in Times Square. Ill be there  again, cheers for the report TBJ. I love reading it even tho i get to watch each game from my Brooklyn lounge room (er...one bedroom apt that is
Thanks TBJ - again from another Aussie. Just to let you know what this sort of stuff does for us down here. 1 - I Have changed my allegiance from the Packers to the Jets (even though I visited Lambeau Field a couple of year ago) 2 - Every week I use nfl.com to get the full play-by-play to see how the team (& Benny in particular went) 3 - Read the Game thread to get a little bit more info on how the punts went (as the stat don't tell you everything) 4 - Wait with anticipation for TBJs report SO it does make a difference - and I would hope if the tables were turned that one of us here would give you a blow-by-blow description as well. And try to watch the AFL if you can - as a lover of all sports - it's a brilliant game with skill, pace, and strength
^great proof of the great work TBJ does. We have someone new to the Jets family, AFL is a great game, always wanted to see it live.
SDon... going to the game? Great! Got any predictions on the outcome? Maybe you could start a thread in the BS forum... and tell us what you think. I have Verizon.... nit sure if I can get the game... might have to look into this and see if I can watch it in a pub nearby, since our bars don't close till 4am in NY. As for the reports... you guys are welcome... I saw it had about 250 views on the Gellong board... might mean about 200 hits for this site. Not shabby.
Great report (as usual), T-Bird. Haven't had a chance to say that but your observations of the game are always spot on. Had a great time at your home this summer too, buddy. Thanks very much for having us and I look forward to future summers in which we can watch TC together.
I just thought i would mention Frank in oz that your avator is very underrated. Wow that is a nice ass. wow
TBJ...THANKS! I wish we had more analysis like yours on here and less screaming meemies overreacting to every loss or bad play, calling for people's jobs, still howling at hackettand Herm, etc. etc. As for Kowie, you seemed pretty willing to jump on TBJ but when others came back at YOU ya get all sensitive about it. A punter is as--or more--important that any other player. It only takes one F'up from them and ya an close the game (See NE Week 2). Keep Doin it TBJ...wish we had more like you on TGG!
As someone who may well have been one of those guests, I chose to get registered instead. The punting reports are great. Keep up the good work. OT, I have found the hardest piece of info to find on here on a Monday (time zones) is the actual score in the game that finished that day. It is assumed knowledge and rarely ever posted. What was the final score against the Bills?
Jets 28, Bills-20. You can also go here.... http://www.nfl.com/scores/2006/week3 This site, the official NFL site will give you live scoring and a narative of every play. Welcome aboard Forge!
