I never want to see anyone get seriously injured. But if Mike Vick goes down with a career ending injury in preseason or week 1 (he'd probably start over Geno), I wouldn't be upset about it..
Okay so, is Smith #1 on the depth chart? I know that wouldn't be a secure position in this scenario, but is this an open competition again or is Smith gonna get a chance to be starter until the point comes that he loses the job (IF he loses the job)
Yeah it was a weird mental block he has. Where he gets in trouble is now he tends to dive head first which is somewhat better but opens up to getting kicked. It is up there with Charles Barkley's mental black with a golf swing. Makes no sense.
Awesome interview with him and Eric Allen on our home page. Vick knows his role. Said he is ready to win games when his number is called and will be there every step to help Geno. I am very happy with this signing. Really brings the competition we need.
Vick should get the chance to compete for the starting job. He's probably better than Geno, at least at this point.
yea number 7 Mike Vick Now this is interesting... Clearly Vick is the superior QB but I suspect that Geno will start unless he sucks as bad as he did last year. Will it be true competition in TC? If it is, Vick's our starter no doubt.
Waste of 3.5m. I thought Idzik was a cap guy. Then he goes and wastes a roster spot for that much money?
to be clear, 5 million is the market price for a veteran stopgap QB this year. Henne got 2 years 8 million Cassel got 10 million or so for 2 years. McCown got two years 10 mil. no complaints for that price, following curve, completely fair.
Check out his interview. He says that he will compete and will be ready when his number is called. Will help Geno everyday.
I've said it before, I'll say it again........Does Jackson and all the $$/issues he brings with him sound like anything Idzik would touch at this point? No way.
so there's incentives involved too? details please? that'd make this one hell of a deal instead of just a fair one if true. we'll see, I need to hear it from JI, RR or MM. I just need to know what the score is.
I live in the Hampton Roads area where Vick was raised and when this dog fighting scandal broke; there were many goobers that said their Daddy would break a dogs back across a tree if it didn't do a good job when hunting. There are many Hunt clubs around here and in NC and I heard my bumkin brother in law say that same thing about his Dad breaking a dogs back across a tree. So my point is there is a section of the population, not big mind you that have very different views about animals. I think Vick was caught up in this while growing up and was groomed by Uncles, whomever to discount dogs. I own 2 labs that are litter mates and they are like kids to us, meaning we care about them greatly. Where I grew up in Da Bwonx; we never did stuff like what came out in the Vick scandal, we loved animals. Hell the PETA HQ is here in Norfolk, they have a fishing competition annually down the street from their building to mess with them. I don't like what Vick did to them dogs, but I have an understanding of the medieval nature of the people that I mentioned he was a part of early in his life. I love my dogs, I love my team.
Goodbye JETS see ya when you release VICK. This is not how you bring character to a team!! And no he did not pay his debt in my opinion! Learn what he actually did, I will be spending my Sundays reminding people and helping save dogs from idiot humans!!. http://aldf.org/resources/laws-cases/animal-fighting-case-study-michael-vick/
Alot of people need to get of their moral high horser here... You can debate the football element of this, although i still would take vick over sanchez there... But the morality piece is a crock of shit. Vick paid his debt to society.. Let it go.. You are the same people who have no problem cheering rapists, murderers, wife beaters, drug addicts, and steroid cheats... Most of which paid o to society for their crimes.
