Yes, Jordy is better. It's not close in my opinion.

Well, this is the way you counter Revis. Add more receivers. If we can team Decker up with Sanders, that would be a decent unit! Decker/Sanders/Kerley/Nelson/drafted WR or Hill/ = tons of potential upside.

Five years at $36.25 million sounds good! We didn't overpay either.

Why would anyone be upset that he is not a true number one receiver. I don't see any of those in free angency. Pretty good contract. And we improved overall at the wr position. On a side note. Burning revis jersey as we speak

This guy had Manning making him look good, not impressed with this signing.

This move lets us not worry about picking up a big possession receiver. This draft seems to have a lot of smaller, technician type WR's which would round out our offense nicely and who will be available in both the 1st and 2nd rounds. We'll have to see how he does with Geno throwing to him, but this definitely fills a gaping hole we have in the offense.

If we don't pick up another WR or go TE in the first two rounds, TJ Jones out of Notre Dame would be an excellent fit for what we need at WR in the later rounds. Somebody's going to pick him up and be real happy they did.

You're reaching. He's not better than Keenan Allen or Jordy Nelson.

Kendall Wright and Edelman are very good, underrated players who function more as slot guys, catching most of their passes close to the line of scrimmage and producing consistent YAC. It's hard to compare them to 'X' or 'Z' guys.

Those other guys are on teams without a real #1 WR.

What receivers did you want? The guy Aaron Rodgers made look good, the guy Eli Manning made look good, or the guys who really aren't that good?

He and someone else the Jets bring in with Kerley in the slot is a nice combination. Most of us were worried about overpaying Decker. They didn't really do that. He's a nice step 1 to improve our receivers. Now we need to bring in 1 or 2 more guys.

Maybe Manning looked good because of his WR's! To not give any credit to those guys is just a crazy as put all the blame for every loss on Peyton. Decker is a good receiver , he's here, Deal with it, and quit acting like a bunch of freaking girls!

I wouldn't say Tate is better.

But Tate played in a run-first offense with a controlled passing attack where the QB was generally kept to between 20 and 30 pass attempts per game.

Decker played with Peyton Manning, in a pass-happy offensive juggernaut, having a season for the ages.

Decker's number are inflated; Tate's are more likely deflated (or accurate).

You are right. Without Manning, Decker probably would have caught 19 passes for 179 yards.

C'mon, man. The offense pumped up his numbers, but this was not all on Manning. Decker played well when he was catching passes from Orton and Tebow. Decker is a #2 WR and the Jets needed one.

    Take your Aaron Rodgers example:

Jordy Nelson I would take in a second. He's a legit low-end WR1. James Jones, on the other hand, is "just a guy." Aaron Rodgers obviously makes everybody better.

To me, it comes down to talent and skill. The "eye test" has to be part of the evaluation process.

I don't hate Decker. He can beat below-average to average corners pretty consistently. I just think people expecting the same level of production as he put up in Denver are gonna be sorely disappointed.

Yeah my bad i didnt know hatchette's stats were that bad. My point is I think Decker is a system player. I've never been real impressed by dude's skills. However, that does not mean he's hatchette. I just didnt like the signing but hopefully i'll be wrong.

Nelson is an underrated #1 WR. Him and Cobb have much more talent than Jones, but pending on price, I'd still be all for the solid JJ.

James Jones is still a solid receiver, There are others I prefer to him sure but he's a decent #2.

i haven't heard anyone say they re expecting those numbers. most people accept that this was an upgrade, and at a decent price. f.a. is to help make your team better and today the jets just got better.

on a side note, this looks lie a 2 year deal to me.i don't know if its been mentioned but 5/35 15 guaranteed is probably 2/7.5 than we see what he has done.

Quarterbacks getting way too much credit. So I guess Peyton just throws the ball in the endzone and it's registered as a touchdown?

Eric Decker will be great with Geno Smith. Stop getting tied up in this no. 1/no. 2 receiver bullshit. If the offense is scoring points I'm happy.
