Here is a thought .... being as it seems probable that the Browns draft a QB and that they have Hoyer now ..... what if Weeden becomes available for a mid round pick? Younger than the guys we have been talking about and talented enough to push Geno. Just to see what people think.
I think Weeden has proven without any doubt that he does not have the capacity to successfully quarterback at the NFL level.
That would cost a draft pick and $40,000,000 over the next 3 years unless he is cut. If he is cut and they can work out a reasonable deal then maybe but then they will be competing with other teams for his services which would probably drive up his asking price.
Yep. That's why we've won so many Super Bowls in the past few decades. Adding Vick does nothing to help our chances at winning the Super Bowl but does raise our total salary. So I'd rather stick with a young QB who has the potential to develop into something great than use a QB who peaked a while ago and isn't good enough to win a SB.
You keep making the same point. I get it. Do you need to respond to every post in this thread to claim Vick will never lead us to a superbowl? We all get it. Thanks. We should be sure to not add any players who don't guarantee a superbowl this offseason.
What is up with your man crush on Mike Vick? We get it He gets your heart a-beatin'. Why a sociopathic, injury prone, washed up, back up quarterback gets your loins all worked up, I dunno. The constant defense of this POS is annoying.
my heart beatin? My loins worked up? Don't project your homosexual thoughts on others. I think Vick is the best available FA QB option for the Jets. A lot of people make irrational, emotionally charged statements about him. I'm sorry if it bothers you when I question things like "He has nothing to offer" and "We aren't winning a superbowl with him". If you have something to add to the discussion please share, otherwise keep your homoerotic fantasies to yourself.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's possible to embrace Vick as a viable backup for this franchise, and still love animals. I know it's hard for some of you to comprehend, but i'm hoping human evolution will help you along that path.
Everyone makes mistakes. The guy has moved past it, he's done his time, he's changed his life. Willingness to forgive, isn't exactly a leading trait of a large portion of Jets fans.
To reject Vick playing at this stage of his life for his past transgressions would be to reject any of his more positive behavior since that time as well. I'd rather a Vick trying his better his career and help those who work with him while attempting to right the wrongs he committed than a Vick not allowed to do anything positive. I won't bemoan the man just for living in other words, as long as he's straight now, that should be reenforced positively not by saying you won't root for him. hate an ass when he's an ass not when he's trying not to be, then just say "keep doing what you're doing." his injury history has me more worried than anything else, but clearly the jets are the best organization for him, and Vick is `the best option for the jets... at the right price. Speaking of, to anyone willing to accept him on the team, what price would you want him at and for how long? I'm unsure of what a guy like Vick would make a year, less than 10 million of course, probably more than 3 but after that?
